I was all IN Pekingese rescue back in the 90's (Lion Dog Rescue) when I was showing my Pekes (I'm new to Yorkies, but had Pekes until the last one passed at 15 y/o in 2008. We shut down several Pet stores during those years, but I didn't know that Tractor Supply sold pups, that's a new one for me.

I feel the passion you have for rescue and understand the distain for puppy farms. I always said if breeders were required to serve in rescue for a year before aquiring a business license maybe they would see the importance of at least making the spay/neuter contract mandatory for pet purchases.

Lynzy glad you bumped this thread .. We must never assume people know what we know. Everyday new people enter the world of having a dog or dogs and they are often starting from zero knowledge or experience

I know how you feel. I think sometimes people confuse our desire to help the dogs with some sort of puppy snobbery. At least that is what I have seen in some threads. We have no judgement against the pups. It is the breeders that cause so much suffering that we detest. A dog is a dog and has no responsibility what so ever concerning where it was born. We just want to stop the suffering.

I will be putting the pet shop that sells puppies near us on the map.
