| Finally tried the "bully sticks" Hi all, I finally bought the bully sticks the other day....well they are actually "bully rings".....Mannnnnnnnnnnnn do they make their breath stink! I hate that smell, and I also got nervous about how they tear......Im so afraid they will choke. Has anyones pup ever had a bad experience with these? Ive so far only heard good things. I have written on here before about how I give them "busy bones" and "jumbones"....I buy the ones for small dogs but I still cut them in half . so far they are the only things that I feel really safe giving them because they kinda melt down as they eat them......The only thing is is that they seem to get really FULL from them and then wont eat their food. that is why I was looking for something else for them to enjoy and chew on.

I Love Thor Donating Member | We've never had a bad experience with bully sticks. I think if you just supervise all should be okay. I ALWAYS take his bone away at the end when it's about two inches big so he won't choke on it no matter what it is. Did they love them? |

| All four of mine love the bully sticks!!!! I let mine chew on them everyday at bedtime to help them settle down and they really go at them for a good hour. I have never had any of them choke on one but you are right, they sure do stink. I always let my Jack Russell finish off the last inch because she is bigger and can really chew them up. I use to buy them at the feed store where I get there dog food and was paying $3.25 a piece but I recently ordered a bag of 25 on ebay for $1.18 a piece including shipping. What a savings. We go through quite a few of them with the 4 dogs. They also last much longer than any other chewie I've bought for them. |

| Thanks for your replies all, but has anyone ever used the "busy bone" or "jumbone". Just curious, cuz mine LOVE them, but like I said it seems to make them too full to eat for just about the whole next day.

| Jaxon LOVES bully sticks too but I can't stand the smell. He'll have it across the room and I can still smell it!!! He's a big fan of Flossies which don't stink anything like the bully sticks so I bought a ton of those instead.

| i did have an accident with it about a week ago! LILO was chewing on her bully stick ( the 5" braided one) and at one moment she run up to me, in total chaos. I had no clue what happened, but I saw that she was chocking on a pice of it! somehow she chew up about 1/2 inch piece out and now it was stuck to the top of her mouth, blocking her airways. ( just like when you eat a hard candy) I automatically put my finger in her mouth to get it out, but she was in such a panic, that she started to bite my fingers!!! But after few seconds I was able to hold her down to get it out! now when I buy a bully stick, she can only eat it only if I'm holding it for her, and she prefers it this way too.
