I let mine chew on them everyday at bedtime to help them settle down and they really go at them for a good hour. I have never had any of them choke on one but you are right, they sure do stink. I always let my Jack Russell finish off the last inch because she is bigger and can really chew them up.

I use to buy them at the feed store where I get there dog food and was paying $3.25 a piece but I recently ordered a bag of 25 on ebay for $1.18 a piece including shipping. What a savings. We go through quite a few of them with the 4 dogs. They also last much longer than any other chewie I've bought for them.
