| I have three yorkies Windsor about 17mos, ZsaZSa 10mos and Buddy 7mos. They all got along fine until Buddy was neutered and now I can't have him anywhere close to Windsor, he attacks him and could do some serious damage being that he is close to three times his size. Buddy and ZsaZsa get along fine, play hard and when he gets a little rough she puts him in his place quickly but is in no way an aggressive dog. Don't know what happened with my Buddy, I thought after they were fixed they calmed down.

She will eventually calm down, but if the child or stranger makes a sudden move and she feels threatened again she will start all over. I wish we could get her to stop.

| I have 4 yorkies 2 males(one is neuterd) and 2 females they are not really aggresive. But are very protective. They all do not like strangers in our house.Actually our neuterd male is the worst he barks and growls and would probably bite if someone bent down to touch him,he gets put up when company comes!I have day care and they are great with the kids and my moms and dads, the milk man they love him who only comes for about 5 min once a week. But other than that they do not care for strangers they will warm up to them if they are in the house for awhile but other than that they will sit and growl by me or in our kids or hubbys lap. None has ever bit but I would not trust our one male, unsupervised with a stranger.None would get into our house without us here that is for sure. They are all so different and they learn from each other,so if one is agressive they may pick up those habits. |

| I have heard that females can be that way towards other females. I have a female now and would like to get another one. I am wondering how to know if they will get along, or to make sure they get along. Am thinking about keeping a female puppy if she has one and hoping that will help. But that doesn't always work either. Just hoping not to have this situation. I have already gone through that with my female dachshund attacking my female yorkie. I don't want to have to divide my house again. So, I will be watching for any ideas. Nancy |

| Mine fight between themselves, they have a pecking order and if anyone is out of thier place we will have a fight it seems to go in spurts with them ,but then you can find them all laying together and licking each other. Some will just not get along and then it is a seperation of your house not fun.I have never introduced a adult to the group though ,I think more problems and spatting then.Be careful to introduce new pups to your home and always supervise! |

| In the dozens of Yorks I have owned, I have never had one aggression towards people...but I have had many females who were aggressive towards dogs in our home, strange dogs, others puppies, males...and I have had two males who were aggressive towards other males...all in all I think males are the ones with the nicest temperments in the Yorkie world..mine have always been so loving and devoted to the humans, always sweet and kind to the females and puppies...my females are wonderful, but take second place to a boy IMO. |

| Yorkie Rose I agree my males have a much better attitude then my females they tolerate things better. My boys were easier to potty train also. My one male LOVES puppies I keep a gate to our room then my female and pups in an x-pen in our room well he climmed over the gate and into the x-pen and was laying with the pups today licking them.I quickely got him out as mom was coming in from outside,I will have to keep the door shut from now on I guess. He just looked at me like hey I was being nice, when I took him out. He always plays with them when they get older he is a great daddy!!!!!! |

| My Yorkie is very friendly, boy I hope he'll stay that way. He's only growled at his beloved flossie (that's almost gone anyway) while playing with it.. My mom knows somebody who bought 2 sisters from the same litter and one of them hates everybody and everything! Even her own sister.... And they are only about 6 months or so. My mom brought her boy for a playdate and that fiesty little one wouldn't stop growling and lounging and biting. They had to separate them . They tried to socialize her and all but she's been like that from the beginning. She even bit her owner so hard the lady was bleeding... It must be just aggressive personality.

| Of the 4 Yorkies in our family, the females are definately more the alpha-dogs. I wouldn't really call them aggressive, but they have no problem letting other dogs know that they are in charge. Our female Yorkie is definately boss over our female Bassett, even though we had the Bassett first. The 2 males are very laid back. |

| Kizzy acts aggressive with maggie when they are playing and sometimes I get scared she is gonna hurt maggie, but she has never hurt her but both will make the other yelp sometimes a bit. But shes so much bigger I do tell her to stop and she usually does, she just has to constantly growl when she is playing for some reason. Maggie dont. but Kizzy has never been aggressive with any humans except me. Last night she kept chewing on an old chewy bone she had brought in the house. I tried to get it from her and she would growl and act like she would bite if I didnt quit. This went on for quiet sometimes. I left her alone for a few minutes, then I said, I can't let her win or she will get worse. So after a while I would talk to her and tell her she was a bad girl and she would let my put my hand all over her face and even on the part hanging out the edge of her mouth yet growling the whole time. Finally I could get a good grip on it and I snatched it from her mouth and she kinda snapped at me so I slapped her on the rear and boy was I mad. I told her in a stern stern voice, dont ever growl at me again. Then she went and laid down and acted still mad at me when we went night night. This morning she was fine again, but I've not had to take anything away from her today. But If I ever do and she ever bites me, it will be woe beyond to her. I wont have a dog that ever bites me one time. that is the only time shes acted that way so bad and ive took stuff out of her mouth before and she has growled at me before but nothing like last night. truly , i was actually scared but I couldnt let her win.
