| red thing on his male part... I just came home from a wedding and was checking up on Cash before going to bed and I picked him up and pet him for a little bit when i noticed something red of the tip of his urethra. then I kinda freaked out cuz i thought he was bleeding from his penis when all of a sudden it disappeared! so i guess my question is, what is that red thing? it looked like it was bursting out of his urethra and frankly it was kind of gross. Cash is only 4 mo and 1 weeks old, could he be experiencing some sort of a sexual desire at this age? what age do males usually start with this heightened sexuality? (sorry if I'm being vague, I'm having a hard time with wording) any advice would be greatly appreciated!

| Yep that's his weanie alright. And what (I think) you thought was the uretha was the opening to the sheath, the covering to his weanie. And the actual uretha is a hole in the red thing. I'm a farm girl and most animals around are kind of like that, bulls, horses, elephants. They have such big weanies compared to the rest of their body that when they are not using it, it goes and hides in the sheath. That's why some times when you see a horse standing out in the pasture you are like OMG that is so big and other times it doesn't look like there is any thing there. Best of luck to you and Cash.

| Just to let you know that since my Babybear had his neck surgery he gets excited a lot and he has been fixed. Doctor says it is his sense coming back, but he get so excited that he is so swollen he can get it to go back in the sheath so I take a cool face cloth and more or less give him a cold shower. lol I put the face cloth right on him. If not he sits there and humps the air or blanket. He is two years old. So hope this will stop someday. He was a active little guy before his neck operation though. Good luck. |

| Don't feel bad. It happens.... Winston has his favorite bear that he drags everywhere he goes. Well he humps the bear too. One day, he was on the bed and I went to pick him up and there was this red thingy ..... boy did I freak out! I almost called the Vet because I thought something was wrong. Thank goodness that I have friends in the dog business..... LOL

That can happen when a male dog gets excited about other things besides sex too. He was just happy you were home. Oh no! Now somebody is going to ask if he had a banana in his pocket!!!!! | |

| This brings back a very funny memory. My girlfriend called me late one night with the same concern. Usually they just peek out now and again, but at times they will fully come out and Yorkies are well endowed for such little guys. She was frantic, she wanted to know if she could put a cold wash rag on it to make it hurry and go back in! |

| memories lol Well I have to tell you this thread has brought back a memory. When I was a young bride, we had a dog (mixed breed) named Boots. My best friend and her hubby were spending the night with their GSD Smoky. We only had one bed and I was pregnant. They tried to sleep on the floor but there were some ants or something. So us girls were in the middle and the guys were on the outside. Being pregnant, I had to get up to go to the bathroom. When I started to climb back in, the bed collapsed. The dogs (both just pups at the time) both yelped. Next day, I am holding Boots on my lap when his lipstick appeared. I was so naive, I thought he must have got hurt when the bed fell down. The guys had a good laugh at my expense and my friends hubby wanted to know how I ever got pregnant since I didnt know what a penis looked like. lol |
