| ![]() tails where docked as the yorkie was a working dog, it is now done for one reason only and thats for LOOKS no other reason. ive got 4 yorkies two are docked and two are undocked, the 2 docked were done b4 i got them, the 2 undocked are the pups i bred my self and i didnt want them docked. i if im honest prefer the docked look but i wouldnt put my pups through the pain just cos i prefer how something looks, they are more important to me than what they look like. some pups die from docking when it gets infected. i think it is also about what your use to, in the uk now not many yorkies are docked so to us its normal to see a tail but years ago when docking was the norm we were use to seeing no tails and docking was normal to us. its kind of like removing cats claws, in the uk you would be fined by the rspca for doing that and have the cat taken away from you and just the idea of doing that to a cat makes me feel sick but if your in a country that says its ok its as normal as worming then its not a bad thing to them. well not untill someone says hang on is this really ok to do this?

I would assume it would stick to the hair. Rocky's hair isn't that long, but his hair on his belly I usually have to wipe after he goes pee.

| ![]() I had a female Yorkie for 16 years and her tail wasn't docked...I loved it, so cute. Now I have a male with a docked tail...it's cute but I think they should be left un-docked. I truly feel he was traumatized. He seems so sensitive whenever I touch his little tail. I never had a problem with poop getting stuck to her tail. |

| ![]() I think this is probably a subject where we can all agree to disagree. Everyone has their own opinion on this. I prefer the docked tails, because I like the look of the standard yorkie. I don't think my baby resents me for her tail being docked ![]() ![]()

| ![]() Shayna doesnt have a docked tail...i had never really seen a yorkie with out a docked tail before her, but (and i am not just saying this becuz shes my baby!) i love the undocked tail and couldnt imagine a puppy with out one! i've never had to clean her after she goes the bathroom...so thats not a problem. Honestly the best part is to see the tail wagging when shes excited and happy...like when i come home from work and she comes running over! There is really nothing better than that!! Here are some pictures of her tail!!
