| ![]() Any pups that cry for 18 hrs need to see a vet who knows how to dock tails properly...there is no need for that...clamping is quick and bloodless..no need for stitching and pup is back with mom in seconds..infact I have docked the tail as the puppy nursed on mom and barely disturbed it. |

They are no different than a yorkie with a docked tail when it comes to hygiene. They lift their tails up out of the way...no need for baby wipes.

| ![]() Here in Brazil people can choose if they wanna have the tails of their puppies docked or not... but the majority rather docked tails.... My Maggie has had hers docked but I wouldn't mind if it wasn't... she's so precious to me!!! |

| ![]() Bubba's tail is not docked and at first I was upset that the breeder did'nt now I am glad she did'nt his tail curves up and over so cute and it really is a large part of his personality- as for poopy problems - no problemos - what goes in comes out pretty easy for him alittle too easy and too fast sometime he can't get outside in time - you should see me trying to shove a papertowel under his butt to catch it before it hits the floor- my hubby is just standing by going yuck, yuck yuck .........! sissy bas1 |

| ![]() I love the undocked tail. It is just as sanitary as a docked tail. If the hair on the tail gets too long, just take the scizzors & shorten the length. In my opinion the tails should not be docked. My Yorkie will be having puppies in a couple weeks & I will not dock the tails. |

| ![]() I like the look of a docked tail also ----but I know the reason why. It's simply because all the Yorkies I have seen have had docked tails (including the beautiful Yorkies in dog shows) --- so, this simply is my concept or idea of what a Yorkie should look like. If we start seeing more Yorkies with their natural longer tails - we'll soon get used to this and like it just as much. Docking was done in the past - primarily for working dogs and for good reasons - it just isn't necessary any longer - we have just become used to seeing certain breeds with their docked tails - and, it has continued to be done solely for cosmetic reasons (for our own pleasure). I suspect that one day we won't be doing it here in the US either. Carol Jean |

and i would just like to say there are no sanitary issues with full tails at all! the whole docked tail is cleaner is a myth! ![]() and i know people will say "oh but the breed standard........" but hopefully docking will become banned in all countries soon! ![]() | |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | ![]() I've never seen an un docked tail so I don't know my opinion? Let me ask this.......will people buy a pup in the US without it docked and still pay the $900.00 and up prices? Is it harder to sell them without their tails docked? |

In the uk its illegal for a breeder to dock tails it can only be done legally by registered vets and not all vets will do it! My Pippa is docked but not correctly it is short but has a extra piece that sits at a right angle on the end!! I personally like the look of a docked tail but if i had puppies i wouldnt do it! I see it as similar to cutting your thumb off when you were born!

| ![]() I have seen a few yorkies here in NYC with full tails and I love the way they look!! I think it is becoming a trend around here and I think it is great. Nikko has a docked tail but if I had been given the choice when I purchased him, I would have prefered him natural. I too suspect that eventually America will follow suit in banning the practice and docked tails will be a thing of the past.

| ![]() My friend bought a yorkie with an undocked tail and EVREY1 wouldnt beleive it was purebred. in my opinion, since a "yorkie" image in america is how it is, i wouldnt pay as much for a puppy with an undocked tail. |

| ![]() We just brought our new baby home yesterday and he is undocked. We had been looking at him and his brothers and it wasn't until after we had fallen in love with him that we even realized that his tail wasn't docked. I think he is extra cute with his little tail! ![]() |
