| Newbie here....I purchased Oliver over the internet. I wasn't going to at first, but the breeder was very informative and answered all my questions so I took a chance. She was from the Minn. area. I'm glad I went with her then the breeders here in my state. He was $800 plus shipping, but I met half-way. I don't have her website or number off hand but if you want I could find it. If I was to get another yorkie I would go back and get one from her. |

| Hello I am new to the group. I have purchased dogs online, shipped to and from and it is a fairly simple process. I currently have an AKC male Yorkie puppy for sell for 900 INCLUDING shipping and I have the puppy checked out by the vet, comes with yr guarantee, and puppy is checked by vet before flying. I think most people do business online now days. Its easier to find what youre looking for online but always make sure you are dealing with a respectable person. I do not mind people visiting my home any time, my dogs are not caged or kenneled. They are raised in my home with love and attention. My dogs are my children and treated as such. I think you can experience good and bad when dealing online. Be careful and very very picky. Thanks, Kim here is a couple pictures of Apollo http://pics.hoobly.com/full/d716599d...eed1114a75.jpg http://pics.hoobly.com/full/ad054b60...59affdb02d.jpg |

| socalyorkielover, I think that is an awesome idea you came with. I know I would feel better knowing someone from here could personally check out an out of state breeder. |

| I would WELCOME someone to my home to check out my babies. I would send pictures, emails from satisfied customers, vet refrenences and even give year guarantees on pups. That is a great idea. |

| Yes Tifferdink, I would love to know your breeders name, website, number etc. Apollo, I seen the other post you left about the male yorkie your selling, and on the other post you stated that you were selling him for $500 + $260 shipping.... and now it's $900 including shipping? You also stated that you were leaving for vacation and that's why you were in such a rush to sell the puppy?

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I SO Agree with Luvmypupster ! Being on the net does NOT make a breeder a good breeder - references & good experiences from others are their best advertisement - So many people who put their trust in someone they meet on the net are shattered by losing both their money AND have no dog to show - or a different puppy is shipped ...If you truly trust a internet site - and know for sure you will get what you paid for - and did your research - then good luck to you...but I for one would be very very wary of these sites and think long and hard before trusting someone with such an important decision... escrow ?? that's a new one - I would think you could lose your money pretty easily with that also - There are so many good breeders.... but there are probably more bad ones on the net...it's just too big ...When you're talking about these amounts of money PLUS the love you are looking forward to - it's so much better to take your time and be VERY careful who you want to do business with - After hearing all the different "Opinions" on this thread ..If someone needs advise on looking for a new puppy - the people I would talk to first are the people who have been around yorkies for YEARS and know the ins and outs of purchasing .... I would go with the pros and ask them questions....

| Im not a breeder and personally I have had no bad experiences buying things online. I have not bought a pet or animal online though. I have been looking at a cockatoo but nothing serious yet. I have bought items online be it ebay, or websites etc. I have not had any bad experiences so far KNOCK ON WOOD. Yes I had started out asking 900 with shipping included which shipping runs 260.00 and the 6 hour total trip to and from the Airport would use over $50.00 in gas so that is still very little for this lil guy. I JUST bought him for 800.00 so why are people so down on me for asking only 500 for him now? I just want a GREAT home for him. I bought him and his sister and I spent a GREAT deal of money but I bought from a lady in my area, coup;e hours from me. I did not buy them online and I did not pay 500 for them that is for sure. I spent 1800 TOTAL for the 2. I AM leaving for vacation so what is wrong with not wanting to board the little guy? I dont have any family in my area and we just moved here for my husband work so I dont have anybody I trust to pet sit for me. He needs to find a home because he is at the age where he is bonding and if we dont find him a home soon Im afraid we will get too attached and wont let him go. I understand people being cautious about buying online but as long as the person you buy from is safe, upfront, can prove they actually HAVE what they are selling and everything is on the up and up it shouldnt be a problem. I have a web cam and can let people see Apollo. I have heard stories about people selling dogs they didnt even have. I seen ads where a lady was selling Yorkies for 2000.00 and come to find out she didnt have any dogs and stole a picture from another ad of someone else Yorkies. I find that appauling and low and dirty. I HAVE these 2 right here at my feet sleeping. I can provide the vet info where they got their shot and wormings, I can show on web cam, I am who I say I am and Im not out to scam anyone. Like I said at 500.00 Im taking a 300 dolelr loss in less than a week but money isnt the issue, a great home is. Yes it would be ideal to be able to get my money, or some of it back that I just spent. 2 dogs is too much for me I am disable and have 3 young children. I bought 2 on impulse and I should have thought about how much more time, energy and love a second puppy would be. I didnt think it through clearly and I urge anyone wanting to buy a second dog to do the same. The internet can be a safe place if you make it safe. You can get taken very easily but most people arent that naive and they do their research etc. I wouldnt spend 20.00 dolelrs online if I didnt do my research and make sure Im getting what I paid for. In my situation, Im not a breeder, I dont have several puppies here so no way you can get the wrong puppy. I have a male and a female and I think its pretty easy to tell the difference in them lol I dont have anything else. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I know when we talk about buing online - mostly what comes to my mind are the sites with multiple listings - totally gorgeous puppies and an eyecatching site - sometimes it's just a pretty package and nothing more....it's sad that there are so many scammers out there - In the almost 2-1/2 years I've been reading and posting on yorkie forums the sad stories about purchasing puppies generally are the ones involving purchases off the net.... from a breeder that wasn't researched thoroughly. If one does their research, gets references and talks to others who have had good experiences with a particular breeder - they have a good chance of having a happy experience - USMARINEWIFE - Good luck in your puppy search !! Apollo - good luck with your baby boy -

| I looked for about a month for a female and finally found one that I liked and that was not $3000. It is amazing how much some of these sell for. Anyway, I found her on the internet PuppyFind. I talked to the seller sooooo many times, I was afraid she would think I was a stalker. She sent lots of pictures of the litter, and mom and dad. As time came for her to be shipped I do not know who was more nervous, me or her. She called me 4 times the day Cheyenne was shipped and I called her twice. She has called me every week since we got her just to make sure everything is going good. She made me a CD of Cheyenne from the day she was born to the day she left. Since we did not get to see her until she was 18 weeks old, I thought that was great!!!!! She also sent me a "care package" with a diaper bag, 3 baby blankets, stuffed lamb toy, 3 other toys, snack food, all her papers, her pedigree, and chew bones. She also had her micro chipped. I had to promise her I would send pictures every XMass and on Cheyenne's birthday every year. She will not sell any of her babies until they are over 12 weeks. I saw one breeder who was selling a litter and they were only 6 weeks, this is just way to early for yorkies. This breeder is in Washington. If you are interested email me at cps4612@sbcglobal.net and I will give you the information on contacting her. |
