My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Vaccuming!!! UHG! Does anyone own a Dyson??? Are they as good as they claim and are they worth the money????? I want one but wanted to hear is anyone has used one to see if they really are as good as they claim and why are they better than a normal vaccum. I know our yorkies don't shed, but for those of us with other fur babies or when our little yorkies bring in things from the outside on their coats. |

| I have a Dyson and I wouldn't trade it for the world! I tell you, that Dyson really sucks! You wouldn't believe how much collects in the cylinder each time I vacuum. Since I got mine, I've given so many people demonstrations and 5 friends have bought Dysons too. I don't have the pet Dyson...I have the red one. I know some that have the pet Dyson and they have great things to say about it! I've had mine about a year and a half and still am amazed every time I vacuum and see all that dust and dirt! I say go for it! You won't regret it a day in your life! Heck...it makes vacuuming fun! LOL

| I think there is a site (you can google it) that tells the reviews on the Dyson. I was thinking about the newer swiffer vac...have you seen it? It is a small vac with a swiffer pad behind it to "grab" anything left behind......not one of those what swiffer pads, just a dry one.........I wonder how well those would work? I have a lab and german sheppard, they seem to shed a lot.....I need something new too......I have wood floors, but sweeping and using a small vac doesn't seem to get all the hair up! I bet you can find a Dyson on eBay........

| For what it's worth, I usually look things up in Consumer Reports Mag. before I buy things. They say for the money they are not impressed w/ it. They tested the Dyson DC14 at $550 they said it was excellent on bare floors but just good on carpet. They recommend the Sears Kenmore Progressive w/ Direct Drive 35922 ( the 35923 is similar) at about $300, for the price it was better on carpet. The Kenmore was scored just as well as the Dyson on emmissions also. Hope this helps. |

| I have the Dyson DC07 Animal, the purple one for pets, and I love it. I have 2 cats, one very long haired, who shed something awful, 2 birds who seem to molt constantly and like to throw their seeds as far out of the cage as possible and a dtr with long hair who sheds like the cats and the Dyson picks it all up in one sweep(2 for the seeds cause they get down in the carpet). I love the fact that it's bagless so if something accidently gets vacummed up, it's east to retrieve. Mine came with more attachments than it was supposed to. I haven't tried the carpet cleaner yet, so I don't know how that works. It is easier to clean the brushes than any other vacumm I've had and that includes Hoover, Electrolux, Rainbow and Oreck. I recommend it. I'm sure there is always a chance of a lemon out there, just like a new car, but if you go to their website, you can get alot of information on it. Good luck.

| I recently bought a new vacuum because I wasn't thrilled with my Oreck. I read some really good reviews about the Dyson but I ended up going with what my mom has and recommended to me- the Hoover Savvy. It was much less than my Oreck or the Dyson (under $200) and I LOVE it! It has a little light that stays red if the carpet isn't clean and turns green when it is. I can't believe how much it picks up. My carpets look so much batter than they did with the Oreck.

| Oh my mom has a Dyson and it ROCKS! I have never used a vacuum that is so good. I would say if you can afford it than go for it - me on the other hand - it is too expensive.

| I havent heard of a dyson. I am interested in hearing more. I was going to buy a new vaccum when I get home form the vaccum store. They arree like $600 but really pick up everything. I dont remember what brand it was but it is much better than the ones you buy in the stores but it also should be fr that price

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Thanks everyone. I know, $500 is alot for a vaccum and I have a hard time spending that. And of course I'm going to have to convince my husband I can't convince him to pull out all our carpeting (its only 2 years old) for hard floors, so I guess maybe the vaccum will go over better! |

| Kenmore is rated better than the Dyson and much cheaper. I have the Kenmore and it is great. I use the cloth bags and you can use them alot longer than the paper. One other thing to keep in mind is that a bagless is not real good for you when you empty it. Not recommended at all by the American Lung Assoc. |
