I have the Dyson DC07 Animal, the purple one for pets, and I love it. I have 2 cats, one very long haired, who shed something awful, 2 birds who seem to molt constantly and like to throw their seeds as far out of the cage as possible and a dtr with long hair who sheds like the cats and the Dyson picks it all up in one sweep(2 for the seeds cause they get down in the carpet). I love the fact that it's bagless so if something accidently gets vacummed up, it's east to retrieve. Mine came with more attachments than it was supposed to.
I haven't tried the carpet cleaner yet, so I don't know how that works. It is easier to clean the brushes than any other vacumm I've had and that includes Hoover, Electrolux, Rainbow and Oreck. I recommend it. I'm sure there is always a chance of a lemon out there, just like a new car, but if you go to their website, you can get alot of information on it. Good luck.
