My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | What do you put in your belly band? I'm using always panty liners. They are small and thin and I'm thinking I'm using the wrong thing. I had two big leakages this weekend. What brands and types does everyone use? This is the first time I've used them. THANKS!!! |

| I'm pretty sure that's what your supposed to use. Maybe you need to change it more often?

Use actual pads, that absorbs much better. My friend has a male yorkie and that is all she uses. Panty liners just wont hold much at all

My friend goes to walmart and buy the cheapest maxi pads they sell. She says they are the best.

| I use folded washcloths, wrap one around him, and pin it. And - I don't put anything in it. My pup wears it around the house --mainly in the evening and during the night (he almost never wets during the night.) I check him often and if he's ever the slightest bit damp - I just change it...and the washcloth goes in with my regular wash.... I could put something in it if I wanted to - just have never done it.... Carol Jean |

| We use the Poise pads (the ones for adults) they hold a good bit and come in a variety of thickness (light - heavy). We used cheap maxi pads but they leak and cause his belly band and himself to stink. He is a big time marker - he can go out and pee on EVERY bush, tree, etc and then still pee a zillion times inside. He is NEVER in the house without a belly band. You can get Poise just about anywhere -- we usually get them at Kroger or Walmart and they are about the same price at each of those stores.

This is what we do too!! It's soooo funny to see my husband looking at them all for the cheapest prices! LOL The wings work best as you don't get side leakage....that's what we do!!

| I have never had to use any pads with their bellybands. I get my bellybands from Rena and they don't need a pad as they have an absorbent layer in them. When they do wet it, I just put another one on them because I have several since they are very cheap to buy. If I had to use pads, I would think the ones with wings would work best and stay on the best.

| Mojo has only used a belly band on very few occasions, but they have always been with a panty liner, because he never "peed" in them. BUT the belly band we had bought was on that vlecros to itself (so it is adjustable) and it came with HUGE pads....we tried one of those they first time we put it on him, but he was pretty uncomfortable, so we moved on to liners....now, we don't use a belly band (anywhere we go).

| i made one today so my pup peeing at my boyfriend's parents house was totally unacceptable. So i took one of my bf's old bandanas and folded it in half hotdog wise a couple of times, went to walgreens and got a pack of the super long winged maxi pads (my pup is 4lbs) and put one around ond end of the bandana and then masking taped it around him (I know, that sounds bad haha)... no accidents! no accidents! la la la la la la it was the most rewarding experience I have ever had with him! but get the cheap kind b/c they are the bigger variety but they are cheap about it so there isn't that much padding... i just feel really smart for figuring this out. |
