We use the Poise pads (the ones for adults) they hold a good bit and come in a variety of thickness (light - heavy). We used cheap maxi pads but they leak and cause his belly band and himself to stink.
He is a big time marker - he can go out and pee on EVERY bush, tree, etc and then still pee a zillion times inside. He is NEVER in the house without a belly band.
You can get Poise just about anywhere -- we usually get them at Kroger or Walmart and they are about the same price at each of those stores.
