| Oh it is a scam all right, because I was just taken by a scam with almost the same exact wording. I have posted the email I received below. I wish I had known about this site 2 weeks ago. If I had, I would still have the $1,050.00 I lost when I was supposedly buying 3 yorkie babies. We are heart broken. First of all it was a lot of money to lose, but what is even worse is we had already started to bond with the pictures of the 3 babies that had been emailed to us. We had already named them and even bought them adorable Halloween tee shirts and hair bows, because we were sure they would be home by Halloween and we wanted to get their picture taken. We feel as though we have been through a failed adoption, but what is even sadder is we had started to love puppies that did not even exist! I can not understand for the life of me how people could be so rotten and cruel and play on people's emotions. My daughter is very upset. We are now looking for another baby yorkie but this time it will be from someone that we can go to their home and meet the people, see the parents, and get our puppy in person. Here is a copy of the email I received: Hello, i have 2 female and 1 male yorkie i am willing to give out to a good home for adoption, the females presently weighs about 2.2 lb and will estimated to weigh between 3 lb to 4 lb at maturity while the male weighs 2.5lb and are estimated to weigh between 4 to 5lb at maturity.the females is 3 months old while the male is 3 months old .the cost of adopting each of the yorkshire terrier is free and shipping is $250,My babies are so animated and will keep you entertained for hours. Each of them has their own distinct personality. Loving and very affectionate personalites are standard with each of the yorkies. They are very affectionate and like to give kisses all the time. They have the run of the kitchen at different times and are put down for naps just like babies. They do need to rest at various times of the day because they are still infant puppies, they are well socialized with kids and cats and will be your friend if you are the playful type, they just simply love lots of attention.they are uptodate on all shots and wormings and are all current on vaccination i attaced pictures of the puppies to your email shipping includes tax, insurance, and the carrier that the puppy is shipped in. I will include with shipment of each puppy is its certified health certificate, vaccination and worming record, copy of USDA paper, AKC registration application for the puppy, its pedigree, tips on care and training your puppy, and your puppy's guarantee.also the airline ticket, an approved carrier with a soft, comfortable bed, health certificate from my vet, a puppy pack including sample food your pup has been eating, a tube of nutri-cal,I also include a special gift to your puppy from me.Everything you will need will be taped to the top of your puppy's carrier.the total cost of shipping and handling one of the puppies is $250. as you know i have a lot of people that are interested in adopting the puppies so let me know when you intend to send payment and your contact details for immediate processing. God bless you. Amber This is my first post on this board, I wish it could have been a happier one. But I am glad I have found this board for future reference, because we are going to get a little Yorkie, we just have not found him/her yet. |

| I am off to work but can't wait to see the reply. My h is a certified police officer in GA - we aren't too far from Augusta (not that the scammer is there though). Tell him you would be more than happy to have your friends pick up the pup, COD. Tell him he can trust this to be legit, because it is local law enforcement.

| I answered a similar ad and did live close enough to pick up the puppy. So in the next e-mail he told me they were in Africa and he would have to ship the pup to me. The ad I answered came from an area 1 hour from where I live. I asked him how did he travel with such a young pup when most places have quarantine restrictions? He never answered my questions just kept asking for money to ship the puppy. That is the uttmost important thing, that they be able to get your money so they can "ship the pup"! I agree, it sounds lke the same scam, just another "verse". |

| Advertisements like this - always scream out SCAM to me. I agree with all the remarks about the poor English - poor grammar - and everything else that a lot of you mentioned.... Why do these people keep thinking that they can pull this scam. I'm afraid to think that a lot of them may have been successful -- because they just keep doing it. BUT - the first thing that tells me that these ads are scams is simply the fact that they are advertising and are always oh sooooooooooooo willing to ship these pups anyplace in the world --- for $$$$$$$$ Anyone who has a nice little Yorkie pup can sell it locally with no problem whatsoever. This means that they could advertise - let people come over and see the puppy - and if a person liked the puppy - they could pay for it and take it home. What is all this garbage about shipping these puppies all over the world!!!!! This is so totally unnecessary. No one needs to do this to find a good home for a little Yorkie. Who in the world would send any money anywhere to purchase a puppy sight unseen from a person they have never met - and then expect to actually get the puppy..... especially from a foreign country - or a person who can't even read or write English. I think we have all noticed that they all have the same story.... over and over again...... Scam - scam - scam!!!!! Carol Jean |

| Omgsh, how weird! I had something similiar happen tonight!!! There was an advertisement for Free Maltese Puppies so I sent and email. Here is mine below .. Hi, I saw your ad in the Tennessean and was wondering if you still had these puppies, and if so if you could provide some info on them. Age? Weight? Gender? Reason for being free? I've been looking for a sister for my Half Yorkie / Half Maltese mix. Thanks, Kimberly www.shopstump.com Response: Hello, The pups I advertised has been adopted by one Mrs Bessie Dredge from Alaska and the pups is doing quite well with her and her family accoring to her recent update about the pups welfare at her home. I want to refer you to one Rev. George Janvier who associates with Serving In Mission (SIM by ECWA) USA. He bought two puppies from me as well. He has been transfered to West Africa in continuation to his missionary/humanitarian work. He went there with the two puppies he bought from me. Unfortunately, Africa is not the place for these types of dogs. He contacted me some days ago to find a caring parent that will adopt the dogs back to the USA. He has no time for them, the african weather is so harsh according to him and this is really troubling him and his mission in West Africa. Contact Rev. George Janvier asap and tell him I refered you to him. He would be excited if he knows you are from me. Below is his details and email address: Rev. George Janvier rev.janvier@yahoo.com Get me informed as soon as you adopt the pups from him. I will send a starter-kit to you. Best Regards. |

| It's scary... The African scammers were so successful with those scams I wouldn't be surprised now if that kind of scam was also on American ground. If someone wasn't familiar with the whole thing, this one I can see poeple falling for. SAD (I mean that last ad from Tennesee).
