| idiot owners Last week, I passed by a house while taking a short cut to a store.....the area was somewhat depressed and rundown....... In a yard.....out in the sun.......was a young dog mixed breed on a short chain that was wound up so tight the dog could not lie down.. no water.....no shade.......There was also a pit bull nearby..... I pulled up in front for a few minutes to see if anyone was home....but I did not feel safe...... I drove up around the corner and called 911....I had to wait for 30 minutes....but a young officer came and rescued the dog. He said there had been many complaints.......May God help the innocent and vulnerable animals that are owned by cruel idiots!!! I could not sleep for several days......I drove by again recently and the pit and puppy are gone.......I hope that is a good sign!

| Good for you ... for not just driving off and forgetting about it. so many people would say someone else will take care of it and the poor thing would have died. Thank you for doing that. I am glad it has been taken away. Maybe now it will have a better life.

| Good for you! I have done this several times. I have even found a dog hit by a car and knew whereit lived. So even when I knew I would be late for work I took the dog to the ownwers house. I knocked on the door and a lady told me ( Oh just leave it on the porch, My son will take care of it when he gets home tonight) I told her No I wont. This dog is in need of medical attention! Now! I ended up taking the pup to the aspca and they treated it there and found a wonderful home for her. Two months later a guy shows up on My doorstep and says I need help my dog is choking ( this was the owner of the car accident pup). So I go with him and there in his back yard is a pup about a year old it had a choke chain on and it had grown into it's neck! I got some cutters and cut it so he could get a breath. Then looked at the guy and told him he should never be able to own a dog again!I wanted to say more but I let the cops take care of it. The dog had to go to the aspca. They had to operate to get the chain out . he ended up dieing I know that he got a fine and can never adopt a dog also if the aspca finds out he has one he'll go to jail and get more fines. I still can not see how these dumb jack butts can do this to these poor pups. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | GOOD FOR YOU ! Why would someone like that even HAVE a dog if they're going to sentence it to a life of torture ? That poor baby - if they had complaints already why didn't someone do something earlier ? Man - that's another reason our laws need to be changed regarding what's called 'cruelty'. You did a good thing - be proud of yourself |

| I would have done the same thing with both situations but with the first one. I don't see why having a pit bull around would be of any concern. NO I'm not an idiot. I'm just saying Pit bulls are not bad dogs. some Maybe but not all.

| No. I understood perfectly. It just seemed like she was also saying that the other reason she called was because of the pit bull. It wasn't just because of the lack of care for the mixed breed, it was also because there was a pit bull around.

| misunderstood??/ There was a fence around the yard.....inside the yard was the nearly strangled puppy...and a territorial pit.. I was afraid to open the gate and try to rescue the puppy because of the behavior of the pit bull. I let the officer and animal control do both jobs.......hopefully they will be rescued a second time. Sorry about the misunderstanding.
