I wanted my baby to be raised in the home with the people so I knew she had all the attention she needed as a puppy. I hope this works out well for you tho. My best to you.

Yeah! I agree with this! Definately put hubby in cage! But really, I think the mom and dad are really beautiful and the puppy is a doll and will grow to be such a cutie. I dont think $1,000 is a lot of money. I paid $1200 for Louie and $1500 for Bella. Good luck and welcome to YT. I look forward to hearing how you made out.

I pretty much have the same opinions as everyone else on here. The mom looks very nice but I cant really see very well what they dad looks like. The puppy is a doll, but to keep them outside is completely insane in my opinion. Yorkies are not meant to be outside dogs and I dont agree with keeping them in pens. The place doesnt sound like its the worst place to buy a puppy but not really the best either.

Your new baby is a doll!

my feelings are, If you want the puppy ... get it. Just make sure you take it straight to a vet within time to give it back and get a refund if the vet finds something wrong and make sure it says you can get your money back and not a replacement dog. Because if one is sick why would you want another from the same litter. As far as taking a stool sample with you to the vet, that dont make sense to me as my vet always does a stool sample and test it when I take mine in to be chked, (maybe some dont) If not I would go to another vet. If the situation looked good enough for you, then thats what counts. Long as yu get a clean bill of health from the vet. A dog that cks out ok, to me is the main thing as your gonna be the one to actually raise the dog and it it gets bigger than you want, you'll still love it. I know that for sure due to experience. And their is no way to tell for sure how big it will get. For her to tell you that, that is just her guess going by the parents and if shes had other litters.
So if I was satisfied thats all that counts. Other people have lots of opinions but I usually go by what I see for myself and what makes me happy. As long as it gets a clean bill of health, what difference does it make where the dog was kept or born. Once it comes to your house, if you really care, you're gonna take care of it and make sure its treated right and has its shots and stuff. The puppy wont ever remember where it came from. To me I dont understand why so many people think if a puppy was kept in an adjacent house that is pretty clean and has air conditioned that it means the dogs arent cared for enough for a person to buy it. I go look at the situation for myself and do what I feel satisfies me. After all, I am the one responsible to it for the rest of its life. I cant believe all people keep their litters in the house with them all the time. I'm sure some do but I'd bet the majority dont.
I'm just having a hard time thinking about these people who buy dogs thru the internet and have them shipped to them, how do they know for sure where the puppies were kept and if they were socialized properly or not. Yet some buy them site unseen except for pictures and emails. People can send you a picture of any dog as they do change so fast and most litters look so much alike, how can they be so sure their getting the same dog as the picture they've seen? I would never buy a dog I didnt personally see for myself. Maybe I just see things different than most but I think I'm personally capable of choosing a dog of my preferences as well as going by other peoples opinions that have never seen the breeder, the dog or where it came from.
Good luck in whatever you decide but always remember, please yourself.

GO DAISY MAE06!!! I have a coffee cup which says "The more I know men, the more I love my dog." She did say the shack was air-conditioned, didn't she? He should be more than comfortable in there.

As per the reason why the dogs are outside, her husband wont let her have them inside because they just recently build their home.

The price is a little high, but actually the lowest i've come accross in regards to this puppies' size. She claims he'll be around 3 to 3.5 lbs which is the ideal weight i'm looking for.

She is also giving me 48 hours to take it to a vet of my choosing after the official purchase date. So the good thing is i'll have an experts opinion regarding the puppies overall health.
no the price isn't a littlee high. It's about average and you only had to pay a small deposit. After you explained things, I don't see anything wrong with buying this puppy. They are all beautiful. My dogs are gated in my formal living rooom but if i could afford to build a really nice building with heating and airconditioning and all the comforts of home, i might just do it. As long as they are well cared for and out of the eleements, I say go for it. Seems to me like she has been totally upfront with you. Maybe even about the bath. I had planned to bath Silk a couple of days before she whelped but she went in labor early and I had to take a very scroungy looking dog to the vet. i have to bath minee once a week. When the weather is good, they play outside for up to an hour at a time.

The weight of the mom bothers me...But, I am not an expert..

Yes, Thats the ad that started this!
Thank you all for your comments and concerns. You all are really helping me get through this!

I just receieved an E-mail from her today stating my yorkie is doing great. She also said she will be doing their ears this week shaving the tips, so their ears start to stand. Also saying they are eating very well and she is becoming sad that they will have to leave her soon. She also offered to send more pictures which i will be gladly requesting and posting up here so you all can see the little guy's progress.

This is really a great forum that i look forward to being a good member of!

Great! Under that user name she has no history on Hoobly as selling yorkies, so I think you'll be ok.

Your new baby is very sweet and cute! I would just get everything in writing... make sure you make a vet appt on the day you get this little one to ensure good health. I would also stop by once or twice with out calling to make sure she is as much on the up and up as she seems... Maybe say you were in the area and had to see sweetie pie! i got Chewy from a pet shop and then learned to late about all the horrible things that can go wrong! I worry every day that he might get sick at some pont.. I will say he is very healthy so far, and every one tells me I was very lucky... But I would die if he got sick and so would our whole family. If you have any misgivings about buying this little guy then I would wait till you find one you are SURE is in good health... If you feel sure he's healthy and everything is ok then do it! Folow your gut I always say! I'm not sorry I got Chewy just wish I had done my homework first! Live and Learn!!!

Unless I'm totally confused, the breeder has posted here at YT:

http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50137

Does her story mesh about accidental pregnancy, getting the mom spayed now, etc?

EDIT: No....wait...maybe I AM totally confused. If so....nevermind.

I agree with others who have advised you take the pup to the vet, immediately. However I am concerned with any breeder that will let a little one go before 12 wks. old. Just gives the pup a better start in life and will also be better able to estimate adult weight.
I know you want your pup as soon as possible but I would ask her to hold him till 12 wks.

Best of luck to you he is a doll.
