| ![]() Any opinions? Regrets? Better for the puppy? easy transition? Is it more difficult with 2 vs 1? Any one out there make the decision to stay with just 1? |

| ![]() I have to say that I once had a poodle who was the only child for several years and then I got him a playmate who was half yorkie/half poodle and he wasn't the same after she came along. I got her so he'd have a playmate and I think he secretly hated her. I gave her to a new family eventually, long story, that I later regretted, but he was much happier being by himself and I would never had known that unless I tried! I think puppies enjoy other puppies, but he was like 3 or so years old and wasn't a puppy anymore and she WAS and was still a puppy at 2 years old when I gave her to a family with kids to play with. She needed PLAY time outside, which I couldn't give her at the time. |

| ![]() Hi hunny, so your thinking about getting a second. I think its great! I go Bella when Louie was just about a yr old. I basically did it so that he would have a little companion whenever I had to leave him home for an hr or two. The first couple of days I thought, "wow, this is a lot of work", but then it was a peice of cake. They bonded almost immediately and they have so much fun together. I love them both so much, and feel that it was the best decision. They are so much fun to watch (always playing or cuddling together). Good luck and let us know what you've decided.

| ![]() Having had as many as 3 dogs at one time before, I am choosing to stick with just one this go-around. Two dogs are soooo much noisier than one; that noise really bugs me!

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | ![]() Two works great for us!! But we got Sailor when Magic was 4 months old....so they really have grown up together. Anytime they are alone - they spent their time looking for each other. But I agree - two is more of everything - costs, grooming, noise - but mostly twice the love!!

| ![]() I have 2 boys and it's great. I work long hours so I wanted a companion for my Yorkie. They keep each other company!. BUT, years ago I was given a poodle and a few days later was given a yorkie. This poodle was a good dog, but definately had alpha issue's. After a couple years, she guarded food, pushed Shorty off the couch and had serious seperation anxiety. She was about 10 pounds and my yorkie was only 3.5. In the end, she needed to be an "only" dog. She was such a sweet girl, I wanted to find her the perfect home. I wanted her to go to an older person who didn't work, had poodle experience and no other animals. I was not going to compromise. She was only leaving me if it meant she could find somewhere she could spend 24/7 with her new mommy. If I couldn't find the right person, I was keeping her. And guess what? that's exactly what she found. Her new mommy had recently lost her poodle, didn't work, and was lonely. It was a perfect match!! That was 3 yrs ago, she still extremely happy. I think it depends on the dog and has a little to do with the breed.

| ![]() I LOVE LOVE LOVE having two. But I'll admit - I was leary about getting a second (ruining a PERFECT thing with Oscar, could I handle two, etc.) and when I first brought her home I was like... "Oh s**t, I'm crazy!". I live alone so these dogs are solely my responsibility (although my bf is a fantastic help when he comes down on weekends ![]() ![]()

| ![]() I got my bella when my bunny was a yr and a few months old. I also got bella for bunny to have a playmate. She dose very will with her but I know there REALLY REALLY jealous of each other. Bunny has been the baby for a yr and is still treated like one. Even my mom babies her. Let just say she knows how to work me over to get her way ![]() ![]() I know some where in that little monster heart, she loves Bella. She would not freak out if bella whined or if some other person petted bella, if she did'nt She acts like she could care less about her, but when it really comes down to it, she loves her to little peaces! I say if you really want to get a nother furbaby, so the one you have know has a play mate... go for it!! I would not wait too long thou! the older doggies get, the more the dont like to play so hard. Best wishes!! Olivia, Bunny and Bella |

| ![]() I have two guys - Rexy and Rowdy. We got Rexy when Rowdy was a year old. They are best buds and they are so much fun to watch when they play. I won't say that Rowdy doesn't act jealous at times - because he does, but he is not mean to Rexy at all. Sometimes (not always) when I hold Rexy, Rowdy will come on my lap and get between Rexy and my face. Again, Rowdy is never mean to Rexy in any way - he just lets me know that he (Rowdy) was first. I wouldn't hestiate to get another one - they are great companions and the joy is doubled. Oh yes, when Rexy was gone to the vets getting neutered a couple of weeks ago, Rowdy was upset all day and evening. He just paced around and stared at us like he was saying, "Don't you know that Rexy is gone and why are you doing something about it!!!" When Rexy came home the next day, Rowdy was sooooooo happy to see him!

| ![]() When I met my common law he had a Boykin Spaniel named Sadie..we still have her..so we got her a playmate, a cocker spaniel!! They were the best of friends but sadly her playmate was killed just after Christmas after his first and only escape out the door. Sadie was so sad without him!! We got Darla a little yorkie/bichon a 4 months ago and she is now 6 months old and last weekend we got Reece an 8 week old yorkie...our house is busy but I LOVE IT!! The more the merrier here!! Sadie isnt a huge barker and Darla barely makes a sound...Reece on the other hand is a lot more aggressive already and a bit more work than Darla was....but OH SO CUTE!! I would recommend 2 or 3 or MORE!! Its what YOU can handle!! Consider how your dogs is with other dogs and if he/she would accept a new member...most become best buds in no time flat!! Dawn |

| ![]() I have two - a 5-year-old Bichon and a 1-year-old Yorkie. Two dogs are more work than one -- but I don't think two dogs are "too much work." Mine play a lot - in fact (it's 1:30 am here) --- and as I type - right now - they are running around the house chasing each other and playing up a storm. They are like two children. I lost a dog last October - and that's why I got the little Yorkie. My Bichon lost his best friend and just seemed to lie around the house a lot and never got very excited about anything. He really seemed lonely to me. Well - he and the new little Yorkie pup quickly became fast friends and my Bichon made a quick turn around. He became more energetic, more playful, and a lot more affectionate. The addition of the new pup was the best thing I could have done for him. I think two dogs are good - they're good for each other. But - I wouldn't want more than two.... Carol Jean |
