I have two - a 5-year-old Bichon and a 1-year-old Yorkie.

Two dogs are more work than one -- but I don't think two dogs are "too much work."

Mine play a lot - in fact (it's 1:30 am here) --- and as I type - right now - they are running around the house chasing each other and playing up a storm. They are like two children.

I lost a dog last October - and that's why I got the little Yorkie. My Bichon lost his best friend and just seemed to lie around the house a lot and never got very excited about anything. He really seemed lonely to me.

Well - he and the new little Yorkie pup quickly became fast friends and my Bichon made a quick turn around. He became more energetic, more playful, and a lot more affectionate. The addition of the new pup was the best thing I could have done for him.

I think two dogs are good - they're good for each other. But - I wouldn't want more than two....
