Default 2 dogs

I have 2 boys and it's great. I work long hours so I wanted a companion for my Yorkie. They keep each other company!. BUT, years ago I was given a poodle and a few days later was given a yorkie. This poodle was a good dog, but definately had alpha issue's. After a couple years, she guarded food, pushed Shorty off the couch and had serious seperation anxiety. She was about 10 pounds and my yorkie was only 3.5. In the end, she needed to be an "only" dog. She was such a sweet girl, I wanted to find her the perfect home. I wanted her to go to an older person who didn't work, had poodle experience and no other animals. I was not going to compromise. She was only leaving me if it meant she could find somewhere she could spend 24/7 with her new mommy. If I couldn't find the right person, I was keeping her. And guess what? that's exactly what she found. Her new mommy had recently lost her poodle, didn't work, and was lonely. It was a perfect match!! That was 3 yrs ago, she still extremely happy. I think it depends on the dog and has a little to do with the breed.
