| For Those That Have 3 Dogs Hi All! It's been awhile since I've posted but I have been 'lurking' all along. For those of you that remember me, I have a 3 year-old Maltese (Biscuit) and a 13 month-old Yorkie (Muffin) and I am thinking about getting another Yorkie. My pooches are both spoiled and loved like they are children (our 3 kids are all grown and married) just like all of you do with your babies. I have a couple of questions... 1. Am I crazy to add another dog to the family? And are 3 dogs really no more trouble than two? 2. Do any of you have 3 dogs and work outside the home? My husband and I both work. My husband only works 3 days a week and on those days we do have a dog walker that comes in mid-day to walk and play with Biscuit and Muffiin. My husband thinks I'm nuts to want another dog but I am so in love with Yorkies that I am just obsessed with adding another one to our family. Thanks for your opinions! |

| We have 3 (2 yorkies and a mini dachshund) and I work full time outside the home. My boys are 14 years old so they are in school most of the year. They all do just fine. My mom does live next door and if she is home she will bring them out potty a couple of times a day, but if she isn't home, we just put down extra potty pads so they don't have accidents where they shouldn't. I keep them gated during the day (they have the kitchen, bathroom, and a small hallway). Lisa |

| I have three yorkies but don't work. I think if your other two are fully trained you wont have a problem I got my third who was an adult dog(16 mos.) when our second was still a pup and not trained. The adult dog hadn't been trained when I got him and it has not been easy with two of them not housebroken and marking. Thank God for belly bands. My oldest yorkie is a barker and is trying to teach them that too. I'd do it all over again in a second though.

| Nahhhh, you're not crazy! I have always had 3 dogs at a time! Acutally, I had 3, went down to 2 then 1 (because of death/illness with my dog and then the 1 who got out of the yard) and when I only had 1, we were soooooo lonely! The house was SOOO quiet! I have 2 now and am thinking of getting another yorkie, although my hubby would rather get another Dane! Now, 2 danes in the house and a yorkie, that might be a little crazy! LOL |

| I had two dogs, two cats, and two birds. But I've never had three dogs at the same time. Please don't think that a third dog won't be more work (and more expense) --because it will. But, I know a lot of people that have that many dogs and enjoy them. I lost both my cats last year - and even with them gone (and you know cats aren't a lot of trouble) -- I have noticed a lot less work around here. The feeding, letting or taking everyone in and out 100 times a day, and the occasional messes are a lot less. PS: All my pets got along very very well. But, then --- that's the rule here. If you can't get along - you can't live here.........I make them sign a contract before I bring them home. Good luck! Carol Jean |

| I recently added a third Yorkie to my pack. I have a 13 year old Yorkie, a 6 year old and now a 13 week old Yorkie. So far everything has been great except the walking part, I know have to go in two shifts. I walk the 13 year old and the 13 week old at the same time and then the 6 year old. The potty training has been a breeze so far because puppy Sam loves to go outside anytime his brothers do. We have a doggie door for the dogs to come and go as they please but I dont think Sam is ready for that yet. Feeding time is kind of crazy. Sam wants to eat the adult dog food and of course Scooter wants to eat the puppy food. I have taken to feeding one at a time which takes a little more time but its totally worth it. I love watching them all play, well, Cidney the 13 year old dont play so much but he does every now and then. |

| I have 3 dogs now, yorkie (7 mths), jack russel (1 1/2 yr) and chihuahua (4 yrs) and I am picking up a new yorkie this Saturday who is the same age as my current yorkie. My husband and the neighbors all think I'm crazy but I don't care. The dogs bring me so much enjoyment. My two kids are grown. I work 36 hrs a week, do all the feeding, walking, playing, clean up and pay all the vet bills so I don't really care what anyone else thinks. They do make a lot of extra work but to me it's definitely worth it. |

| I have three and even though I love them all dearly, it is sometimes nerve racking!! My last two are only 1 month apart and I think that might have been my problem, two puppies at the same time. My two younger ones still aren't completly trained and have accidents at LEAST once a week, I never know who did it, so how can you punish all three!! I do think its hard, but like I said maybe its because the two younger ones were so close in age!! Good Luck if that is what you decide to do!

| I have 4 I have four dogs a minature poodle 9 yrs., a toy poodle 5 yrs and a teacup poodle 6 yrs and a yorkie almost 9 mos. It does get crazy, sometimes, but alot of fun, but as someone else mentioned also a lot of work, I do all my own grooming, and 4 is a lot. Also walking is a problem, I have walked all four at once and I look like a New York dog walker and get lots of looks and comments, mostly " Do you own all those dogs?" I just smile and respond no they own me and keep walking. Usually I walk them one or two at a time and they all want a turn so I get lots of exercise. Honestly sometimes four is a bit much though I love them all and wouldn't part with any of them, however when they dwindle down I probably won't replace them, I will prob always have 2 though as I do think it is good for them to have a buddy, especially if you work or a gone alot. You have bitten by the puppy bug, so go ahead! Just be ready to be dog-tired! Pun intended.

| I have 3 yorkies!!! And I still want one more! Now that is crazy! The only difference is now....3 vet bills, 3 doses of heart worm and flea meds each month, 3 dogs to walk....which is a circus for me!!!! But really having 3 is not much different than 2!!!! Oh and I am getting pushed off the bed more so now!!!!!! Look up some of my threads I have started since having 3....they all have sooo much fun togehter!!!! And if you need to take just one to the vet or somewhere, then there are always 2 togehter!!!! They always have someone to play with!!!!! I say go for it!
