We have 3 (2 yorkies and a mini dachshund) and I work full time outside the home. My boys are 14 years old so they are in school most of the year. They all do just fine. My mom does live next door and if she is home she will bring them out potty a couple of times a day, but if she isn't home, we just put down extra potty pads so they don't have accidents where they shouldn't. I keep them gated during the day (they have the kitchen, bathroom, and a small hallway).
