| I always read that elevated bowls were better for dogs but I have never used one and don't see how they are better. Maybe someone else can explain how they are.

| We have one for our great dane so she wont have back, neck and shoulder problems later. We read to do this in the Great Dane books. My husband actually went around to all the petstores to get some ideas and then came home and made the MOST BEAUTIFUL one from scratch! Its awesome! I was really proud of him! So now that Our dane Sophie has one, he is going to make the new puppy one just so he has one sitting next to hers, it will be cute! But since Yorkies are so small anyway, I dont know if it serves any purpose really? My other yorkie, Peek, ate out of a bowl on the floor for 9 years and he never had a problem. I would say they are mostly just for fun, right? |

Thanks! | |

| I bought the shorter heart shaped ones. I thought the same thing, get it off the floor. They still drag most of their food out of it, but the water doesn't get all over. |

Yes I use these for mine. I got mine at Petsmart for under $20. Here is the one that I have. Bowls came with mine. They might have a better selection in store. I've been using these for about a year now. http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...N=2025790&Ne=2
