anyone use elavated bowls/feeding?
 
are they too tall for our babies to comfortably eat? i was just about to buy one and then thought maybe i should see if anyone here uses them...?

the one i was looking at was the pet buffet with two urban paw bowls for 19.99 or the wooden ones that start at 34.99 at petsmart
any thoughts? here is the other one...

I always read that elevated bowls were better for dogs but I have never used one and don't see how they are better. Maybe someone else can explain how they are.

We have one for our great dane so she wont have back, neck and shoulder problems later. We read to do this in the Great Dane books. My husband actually went around to all the petstores to get some ideas and then came home and made the MOST BEAUTIFUL one from scratch! Its awesome! I was really proud of him! :D
So now that Our dane Sophie has one, he is going to make the new puppy one just so he has one sitting next to hers, it will be cute! But since Yorkies are so small anyway, I dont know if it serves any purpose really? My other yorkie, Peek, ate out of a bowl on the floor for 9 years and he never had a problem. I would say they are mostly just for fun, right? :)

I think they are better for larger dogs. That way they don't have to bend so far down to eat or drink. I bought the smaller elevated bowls. I have 3 different sets of bowls, & they still prefer eating off the floor.

well the reason i was going to was to get it a lil bit off the floor and less apt to spill as when snickers gets excited sometimes i end up w/food and water all over the floor
i just dont want to buy something she may not be able to use
do you think the ones i posted would be too high for her? and does anyone have an opinion as to which one i shoudl go with?

I bought the shorter heart shaped ones. I thought the same thing, get it off the floor. They still drag most of their food out of it, but the water doesn't get all over.

Yes I use these for mine. I got mine at Petsmart for under $20.

Here is the one that I have. Bowls came with mine. They might have a better selection in store. I've been using these for about a year now.
