| I'm so sorry you lost Pixie. I agree with the other YT'ers. $7000 is way too much to pay for a puppy. Also, I asked a lot of questions when I bought Lucy. I called the breeder and asked if I could just come out and look and he was perfectly agreeable. He took me on a tour of his facilities and answered all questions. Your new baby is out there. | I am so very sorry for your loss. I totally understand your concerns and fears about looking for another pup. Sometimes those of us who have strong, healthy dogs don't post that info.... because unfortunately we tend to take it for granted that our dogs will be healthy. It is only when we have a problem that we start hearing about the heartaches. I would definately ask for a letter from the breeder to the breeder's vet giving permission to reveal anything positive or negative she/he knows about the dog. This should protect the buyer from acquiring a dog from parents with known genetic defects. The $$ you might spend consulting with the breeder's vet concerning the parents would be $$ well spent. |
