I am so very sorry for your loss. I totally understand your concerns and fears about looking for another pup. Sometimes those of us who have strong, healthy dogs don't post that info.... because unfortunately we tend to take it for granted that our dogs will be healthy. It is only when we have a problem that we start hearing about the heartaches.
I would definately ask for a letter from the breeder to the breeder's vet giving permission to reveal anything positive or negative she/he knows about the dog. This should protect the buyer from acquiring a dog from parents with known genetic defects. The $$ you might spend consulting with the breeder's vet concerning the parents would be $$ well spent. |
