| Does anyone have problems with their Puppies eating out of their own bowls or trying to eat out of both bowls? Kizzy and maggie both have their own bowls. water bowls and food bowls. They are side by side. two are blue and two are tan. Its hard for me to know who eats what as sometimes neither of them eat, but when one does the other will then decide she wants to but yet she wants to run and stick her head under the other ones in the same bowl. Especially Maddie. then if kizzy gives over to her and goes to the other bowl she does the same thing, sometimes if kizzy is really hungry she growls at maggie when she does it. Sometimes Kizzy will just leave it all to her. Then once Kizzy leaves most of the time Maggie will to. The have the same problem with toys but I dont worry much about that, most of the time thats their way of playing I think. but I like to kinda know both of them have eaten good and this way I dont know if one eats almost all of it and the other gets hardly any or what, except I do know once kizzy starts eating good she will clean up one bowl and what ever is left in the other one where Maggie cant eat that much at once, but I never know if she has enough or not. But actually maggie is the fatty of the two of them but she is still such a young baby. 10 weeks. kizzy 6 months and i've read that the older ones actually need less food. It says that on the directions of every dog food bag i've read. So how do you make them figure out their own bowls and use them, any idea?

| Is there a way to feed them one at a time or in different rooms? I had the same problem several years ago when my cat had kittens. When it was time to start feeding the kittens, the mom would try to eat their food even though she had her own. So, I would feed her first and then put her in a different room so that the babies could eat. |

| I have 1 dry food bowl and 1 water bowl that I put down for the boys every morning so they eat out of the same dish all day. But, I do give them soft food for breakfast and dinner and they each get their own plate for that. I've always fed them the same food so that wasn't an issue in our house...they both get plenty to eat. Do they get time in a crate? Maybe you could feed them seperately so you know they're both getting enough to eat. |

| Mine free feed, but usually when one is eating the other will join in. I give them canned food morning and evening, and they eat out of their own for a while then they trade. They also both always want the same toy even though there are two of everything. |

| I now seperate them when I feed them. Bernie with otherwise gobble everything up. Kona is used to being able to eat at her leisure, but now with Bernie she hasn't been able to do that.

| I free feed my six. If I think one is acting quiet or wants more attention than usual, I pay particular attention to him/her. I usually keep the little packets of pedigree in the cabinet and will open one and make sure they are eating well. Mine all want the same toy as well. One will grab a toy and walk into the group and growl to show he has it and no-one else can get it. Then the fight is on. They are so entertaining, we can just watch them play all day!

| yes, I could feed them one at a time buttttttttttt, you never know what time they will eat. I can fix it for them at 8 or 9 and neither of them may not touch it before 10 or 11, kizzy might not till 2 pm. So that makes it hard. Before maggie came, half the time Kizzy would get up, go out and potty, come in, sniff her food if she even looked at it. I would beg and put her face up to the bowl and everything and she would just walk away. But about 1 or 2 pm I would look around and the bowl would be clean. So I'm not sure what time to feed either, but maggie does seem to eat quicker than Kizzy. Kizzy does a lot of things like me, sleeps late, eats late , or not even eat till supper time. I dont like leaving food down all day for them to pick up a bite here and there. Its easier to keep up with it if you know about when they eat. Sometimes if they refuse to eat it dry i'll put warm water in it and let it sit and soften some and if i put water in it, I feel like its not a good idea for them to eat it after it sits too long. i've thrown out several bowls i fixed for kizzy like that at 8 or 9 and by 12 pm i would throw it out and not fix anymore till she went to her bowl and seemed to want to eat. So i'm damned if I do and damned if Don't. I think I'm gonna just start putting one bowl down for maggie while kizzy is outside early. then putting maggie in her cage when kizzy starts to eat and see how that goes. Kizzy loves to stay out on the deck or in the yard and watch the birds and squirrels on the other side of the fence early before it gets too hot. and if a squirrel comes in the yard i cant get her in the house even when its hot. she chases it up the tree and wants to stand on the steps and wait to see if it comes down I guess. Some days she will not come 11 or 12 and then she wont eat half the time. Hubby told me to quit worrying about it because they will eat when they are hungry. Maggie is put in her crate off and on during the day but not kizzy. Kizzy lets me know when she wants out , maggie dont know that yet.

| Kizzy has probably adapted to your schedule since you're the one with her the majority of the time. What if you just put the empty bowl down and then when you see one or the other of them going to the bowl, you'll know she wants to eat. Then, you could put one in another room or in her crate while the other eats. Or, let Maggie watch the birds and chase the squirrels while Kizzy eats lol |

The last few days kizzy had awaken me bout 6:30 since she had her spay surgery and spent the night at the vets. until that sometimes i would wake up at 8 or so and have to wake her up. I wonder sometime if maggie might whine real low and I dont hear her and maybe it wakes kizzy because Ive noticed when she wants out of her cage in the daytime, she barely makes a whimpering sound. Nobody would hear her if we had a couple people yappin in here, she does it so soft. when we first got her she would scream and carry on till you had to turn up the tv to not hear her. now she isnt like that. Anyway, I just know kizzy always runs to her bed as soon as i let her out of her bed before I can stop her and maggie is most of the time just laying there. I have strange puppies. lol

| It sounds like you have fun with them during the day! lol I work in the evenings so I'll be home all day when I get mine. I'm so glad because I think potty training is much easier when you're there all the time. I don't think your puppies are strange. I think they're very very cute! |
