My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Pet Urine on carpet I know we all love our babies and forgive them wehn they make mistakes BUT does anyone have a great remody to remove the urine smell out of the carpet? My carpets only 2 years old. I'd love to pull it all up and put in hardwood flooring or Pargo BUT hubby says NO! I have natures miricle, but It doesn't seem to take it all away. Any suggestions? For cats too. |

| I use a steam cleaner with nature's miracle. You could always do what I need years ago after my skin baby irish triplets made a disaster of my livingroom carpet - I cut a HUGE (as in 4 feet across) hole in the middle of the carpet one day when my hubby went to work. He too had told me I couldn't put hardwood down..... Well, he came home - helped me lift the carpet and then kindly watched the 4 kids as I spent the next couple of weekends preparing the surface and laying the new hardwood floor myself! J |

| I use venigar and water and after that I have some no vac carpet cleaner with pet deodorizer in it. Then I spray that on the spot and it foams up and just let it dry into the carpet. My puppies usually do not go back to the same spot. But hey, they just make a new one if I dont catch them in time. lol. I try to get mine trained to go outside. Kizzy is pretty good and Kacee is learning I hope.

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | [QUOTE=4Dogs]I use a steam cleaner with nature's miracle. Do you use it full strength in your cleaner? I have a steam clearner as well and it says to use Natures Miracle full strength. Just seems it would take alot in the cleaner as well as cost alot! |

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Spot Shot! I immediately clean his "uh oh" spots as soon as he has an accident with Spot Shot (I let it sit on there for 1-2 minutes, then scrub with paper towels) and afterwords I spray Febreze directly onto the spot...I swear my house doesn't smell like pee (I've asked people that I'm close to that would tell me the truth, lol) and everyone agrees - no pee smell I don't know WHAT I would do without my Spot Shot!!!!! It is SUCH a wonderful thing...lol.

| What I use is the steam cleaner solution with water, then I spray the Natures Miracle after. I think it gets the urine up better that way. You can't just cover the smell, you have to eliminate it. |

| Right after Tilly has an accident I spray some Woolite pet spray and odor remover. I never have problems with our house smelling like pee.

| I went through the same thing that you are facing. The truth is that nothing will remove the odor enough to stop the peeing. Dogs have 200% more ability to smell than we humans. Also the urine soaks to the underlayment. Here is what happened to us. 3 years ago when we bought this house, the carpet had urine stains. We had it cleaned by a company that claimed to remove the stains and the smell but it did not work. Our dogs still used the same areas as before cleaning. So we had all new carpet laid. But they still kept going in the same spot. I googled the situation (should have done it first) and learned the sad truth. We pulled up some of the new carpet and the odor that filled the room about made us puke. All that urine...from the dogs before and our dogs was in the under layment so there was no way that it could be cleaned out. Last year we bit the bullet and my husband laid wood floors. Wish we had just known this from the beginning although we probably would have tried anything before believing that we had to get rid of all of the new carpet. Good luck. |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Cat urine? Any ideas for the cat urine smell? Seems that my eldest cat is having unrinary problems again and had found it much easier to go in a corner than to go downstairs to the litter box. I just found it ! The smell is driving me crazy as I'm an anal house cleaner!!!! |
