| ![]() Wow, that was a very well written post. I'm just so sorry that you had to tell this story first hand. ![]() ![]() I can remember when I had a Maltese puppy who was about 3lbs. She jumped out of my lap while I was sitting on the floor!!! She banged her head and started twitching and yelping. I was so scared!!! Luckily she was okay. But I know how you felt. And GOOD for you for doing Yorkie CPR! I'm proud of you (take a look under my username...hehehehe). Anyway, I hope people take to heart what you said regarding tinies. Baby is over 10lbs now!!!!! But even still, people and little kids think she's a puppy! I also have to say that my aunt has a Yorkie who's exactly Baby's age (10 months) and she's only a little over 4lbs. And, she is too tiny for me. She's not fragile (thank God) cuz she jumps around all over, but she's just tiny. I like my substantial Yorkie. ![]() You actually made we want to write a thread about what happened to Baby yesterday. Hooray for Teapots! ![]()

| ![]() I'm so glad Mazie is ok. I had a friend who had a tiny one that died from hitting its head falling down a stair. They said it had a soft spot there.

| ![]() Mitzi is a sturdy 6 lbs. and after 9 years we are still amazed how tiny she is! I couldn't imagine to have one even tinier (and please recall my last dog Inka had a whopping 150 lbs!) Thank you for posting and bringing the word 'tiny' in a good relation to a dogs desired size. Dog size should not be a subject to competition! ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() you are absolutely right. there is so much talk about the problems of these little angels and yet some people still want a tiny. i feel so sorry for these puppies...its not there fault they have to live in such pain and with so many problems due to our selfishness to have something so small.

| ![]() I am sorry you had to experience such a scare ![]() ![]() ![]() If people that wanted the mini, tiny , itty bitty & micro pups did more research into the health problems, and tried talking to a owner of one of these extremely small babies it would be all the better ... but people are stubborn and don't realize the danger. Your story tells it all ! simple evening turned almost tragedy ... !! all from a calculator ! wow ! Thank you for sharing if even one person reads this and decides its just not worth it than that great !! this is a story everyone should hear!!

| ![]() I m knocking on wood but Little Bit is two lbs. at 4 months old and I've had her 7 weeks and so far she has not been a nightmare but a beautiful dream! We are extra cautious with her and have been from the beginning. She came to us at less than a pound with coccidiosis and we've been to the vet 5 times & the groomers once so she's not been cheap but then again, she certainly wasn't "cheap" when I bought her. She hasn't been sick. The reason that we have been to the vet so many times is that I have insisted she get her vaccinations one at a time. Anyway, I am retired & its just my husband and I and we love being able to just pick her up & go. We plan to travel with her in our rv. I have no idea how large she will get but we'll love her if she's a tiny or a plus size. |

| ![]() So glad that Mazie is ok now. We have three tinies in our home. One because she was born hurt because of too many puppies in the litter and is so delicate and tiny. Our Me-Me was born with PDA, but a miracle saved her from heart surgery for now. Me-Me fights to stay 2.5 pounds and Cupie fights to stay 3 pounds. We had to purchase a pet stroller for when we travel to keep them safe. Pleople are always trying to grab them becasue they are so small, cute and look like nothing is wrong with them. I agree with the yorkies being just too small. I gave my friend our two larger yorkies(5 pounds) because they were just too rough with them. Our Luca is around 3.5(very small, but stocky)had a sezuire when one of the larger yorkies that were here tried to pick on her. I love the special needs babies. My firend just had a too tiny female born last month that is not growing enough. She has already remarked that she might have to send her to our house so she can be safe with the rest of our clan. Tines are like puppies their entire lives and have to be so protected. Sorry I ran on and on. |

| ![]() Thank you for this post. I posted a similar one 3 days ago because I was sooo worried about Tia (4 months and 1.5 lbs) and needed some reassuring and some people to share information with me. I was really upset and tried to get some information. I got 71 views but only 3 responses all saying I shouldn't worry. Obviously, there is another side to the story. So again thank you for this post. I got the information I needed.

| ![]() Awwww, it does sound like you have a REALLY little one on your hands! And of course, there are lots of fun things about owning them, so I'm sure people felt like they didn't want to "rain on your parade"! It's true that in many situations they can be much tougher than you'd expect, and I'll confess that in general (both with my animals, and with my kids! ![]() So the title I put on this thread just meant to refer to that....certainly owning a little bitty one isn't a CONSTANT nightmare! ![]()
