| Those cage driers should be against the law! This is the main part of the article, but there was much more to read: Aug. 3, 2006 — When Kimberly Clark's two Yorkshire terriers, Daisy and Trooper, were dropped off for a shampoo and blow-dry at the local dog salon in Clinton, Conn., Clark never thought they'd be at risk. But hours later, Daisy was dead, and Clark found herself frantically racing to the vet's office where Trooper had been taken for emergency treatment. "I could smell his skin burning when I got there," she recalls. The dog's pupils were dilating, and his kidneys had failed, she said. The vet put him to sleep the next day. Clark still doesn't know exactly what happened, but she suspects a malfunctioning dryer cage. "I can't let go of this," she says, adding that her dogs were like children to her.

| OMG how tragic!! I would just die right along with my babies if anything like this ever happened to them. It's so awful. Imagine having your 2 HEALTHY babies going to the groomer for a routine wash and blow ... then you receive a phone call an hour later saying your baby girl is DEAD and your baby boy had to be rushed to the vet!! And the vet had to put him to sleep the very next morning!! OMG HOW AWFUL!! I feel so sorry for that poor woman. Her heart must be broken. These dogs died such a senseless death. It's a real tragedy.

| Tragic, yes. Senseless, yes. Uncommon, not really. When you see the people that do some of the grooming in stores like the two mentioned, it's not surprising! They aren't all bad, just some of them are uneducated when it comes to grooming. I think that this is one of the main reasons that the mobil pet groomers are getting so popular. There used to be only one in the town I live, now there are about 5!! It's sad. Very sad. Suz

| Inspired - that's what I feel by a woman who has tragically lost her little ones and yet finds a way to walk with grace to hopefully make a difference for the rest of us. By vowing to not let this go - she just might make the legislators change the laws QUICKLY. It is crazy that groomers are not regulated/licensed in all states. May her little ones RIP. I am horrified by the thought of the pain these little ones endured. There certainly should be criminal charges filed. J |
