I believe if the puppy is suitable for breeding, the breeder should give the owner the option. You don't want to make the breed worse but better and this would be where a spay/neuter contract would come up.

I wish too that the goverment would make such a law, but I highly doubt that will ever happen, it would be too much like living in a perfect world which will never happen.

Exactly, if they are suitable for breeding then so be it. But, you as a breeder can get a good or bad vibe from a person to tell if they will be good puppy owners. If you get good vibes then don't bring the spay/neuter thing up if the puppy is suitable for breeding.

And if the puppy is not suitible and if you get bad vibes from the person insist on a spay/neuter contract, then that way it may even scare the bad people away.

Other than that ask all those other good questions everyone has been posting to the person buying your puppy. BUT NO BACKGROUND CHECK, THEY DIDN't MURDER SOMEONE. And you as a breeder like I said will get those good and bad vibes about a person you will be able to tell.
I'm glad you want your babies to go to good homes. I don't think asking someone to keep you updated on pictures of your babies is too much. I offered to keep the person I got mine from updated. I think it's fun letting them know how their babies are doing. The guy that I bought my male from gets a picture of him every month. And the lady I got my little girl from sees her every now and then. But, don't try to stalk the person and insist they show you pictures of your puppies. It's just another thing you should ask the person and see how they reply, but don't take it personal if they do not want to do it. They just may be personal that keeps to themselves, but once again your insticts should kick in and you should tell if they are good or bad. I think that is the key to being a good breeder be sure to ask those good questions and listen to their answeres and you should be able to tell who's good, bad, who's in it for money, etc....

Anyhow, good luck on selling your babies, do you have pictues of them? Or did you post their pics already and I missed them?

Oh, it's okay for you guys to breed but nobody else can. How do you know the people purchasing the puppies won't be good breeders. Afterall, somebody gave you breeders a chance or you would not be breeding, because you all would have spayed/neutered your yorkies.


Well I wasn't even told about the "WHAT IFs" of not having a puppy spayed/neutered when I bought both my parents from different breeders...Which I too think they should of been talk of it...I just happen to luck into my 2...Now that I know what could happen to their babies then sure I'll think about the spayed/neutered contracts...No I'm not saying it's okay for us to breed but Me myslef is trying to be a Very Responsible, Caring, Concerned Breeder. Their breeders NEVER gave me a chance @ breeding!! I chose to for they NEVER said DO NOT BREED!!!!!!

BUT, I do understand that their are people out there that will just breed for money and not care about the animals health. I think our government should step in and make a law that states, "if you breed a dog and not care about their health then that person should be imprisoned", but then how would you find the bad breeder. I truly don't know if there is an answer that could solve this problem, but I know by not letting everyone not breed is not right. There are alot of good people out there that would love to breed and raise puppies.

This is exactly why I think they should be spayed/neutered contracts!!!! For there are just to many in it for the MONEY not the BABIES theirselves!!!!!!!!!!
