| ![]() Hey All!! As most of you know, there's a heat wave coming through the east coast and it is 99 degrees today and it will feel like 105. I am very paranoid about leaving the AC on all day while nobody is home so what I did was put Zoe in the basement (its not dingy, my mom lives down there) with a fan on so that its cooler than it would be on the second floor (which is my room and his). What do you guys think? Am I cruel? I put his bed down there along with his toys, blanket, lots water and lots of room and blocking off the dangerous areas. Note: this would only be today and tomorrow until the heat wave passes. What do you guys think?

| ![]() I think it will be just fine. LOL.. I always send my kids to the basement in the summer to play. It's a club basement and WAYYYY cooler down there . I KNOW it's 20 degrees cooler down there for SURE. Actually when we have power outages in the summer we ALL go down there because it feels so cool. ![]()

| ![]() thank you!! As for the AC...Yes, I am scared it will short out. We have changed the electrical wiring but it still shorts out so ONE - no AC and TWO - scared of fire. We just live in an old house with old wiring...we have to change it AGAIN.

| ![]() I wish I had cenral air conditioning. Unfortunately it would cost too much to install one now so its old fashioned aircontioners for us. Our basment is pretty cool so I figured I would play it safe and leave him in there on REALLY hot days. He usually likes the heat and hates the AC. He likes to lounge in the sun but I hate to see him dehydrate.

| ![]() I live in Texas and central air is a must have!!!!!!!!!! I think you are right to leave it off when you are not home. If your mom can survive in the basement then your yorkie should be able too. |
