I am very paranoid about leaving the AC on all day while nobody is home so what I did was put Zoe in the basement (its not dingy, my mom lives down there) with a fan on so that its cooler than it would be on the second floor (which is my room and his). What do you guys think? Am I cruel? I put his bed down there along with his toys, blanket, lots water and lots of room and blocking off the dangerous areas.
Note: this would only be today and tomorrow until the heat wave passes.

I would worry about my mom being too hot before my dog. So if its cool enough for your mom I would think your dog will survive. At 105 with just a fan I would think it to be too hot for either but if your basement is fully underground then it is usually cooler there than upstairs. If not I would have them both upstairs with the a/c on when its that hot.
