Should I feel Bad? Hey All!! As most of you know, there's a heat wave coming through the east coast and it is 99 degrees today and it will feel like 105. I am very paranoid about leaving the AC on all day while nobody is home so what I did was put Zoe in the basement (its not dingy, my mom lives down there) with a fan on so that its cooler than it would be on the second floor (which is my room and his). What do you guys think? Am I cruel? I put his bed down there along with his toys, blanket, lots water and lots of room and blocking off the dangerous areas. Note: this would only be today and tomorrow until the heat wave passes. What do you guys think? |
That sounds fine sweetie. At least he'll be cool down there during the day. :p |

I leave my air on 24/7 unless it's nice enough to open the windows.:) |

I think it will be just fine. LOL.. I always send my kids to the basement in the summer to play. It's a club basement and WAYYYY cooler down there . I KNOW it's 20 degrees cooler down there for SURE. Actually when we have power outages in the summer we ALL go down there because it feels so cool.;) |
He'll be fine. I live in the basement of my house and i leave a fan on to circluate the air. its cooler down here then in teh rest of the house and so far morgan hasn't complained |
thank you!! As for the AC...Yes, I am scared it will short out. We have changed the electrical wiring but it still shorts out so ONE - no AC and TWO - scared of fire. We just live in an old house with old wiring...we have to change it AGAIN. |
i have to a/c on all day for lexi today .. and tomorrow and wednesday,. its gonna be a scalder these few days...in ny.... humid, thats the worst |

I wish I had cenral air conditioning. Unfortunately it would cost too much to install one now so its old fashioned aircontioners for us. Our basment is pretty cool so I figured I would play it safe and leave him in there on REALLY hot days. He usually likes the heat and hates the AC. He likes to lounge in the sun but I hate to see him dehydrate. |
I live in Texas and central air is a must have!!!!!!!!!! I think you are right to leave it off when you are not home. If your mom can survive in the basement then your yorkie should be able too. |
UPdate Thanks everyone for responding to my thread. I came home and my basement really is a great deal cooler than the rest of the house. He did fine. I will leave him down there on really hot days. THANKS GUYS!! Now I should woory about my mommy...hehehe |
In Louisiana, our AC runs 24-7, 365... LOL.... if AC is out here, you gotta go visiting.... haha we bought a window unit to keep for emergencies... couldnt survive without ac for more than an hour. d |
