| I think you're doing the best thing you can right now. Atleast your giving her a chance to ease into it. Do you know any dog sitters that you trust that might be willing to take care of her in your home? That's the only other suggestion that I can make. |

| Well, just good gracious. You scared me half to death. Your baby is gonna be fine and you still have the right and responsibility to worry about her but only for a short time each day. This is advice I ALWAYS give to new owners of my babies or not. I am just full of advice about leaving our babies. Have the kennel attendent distract your baby with treats r toys or whatever. Then, do not let her see you sneak away. They seem to target on the door where mom leaves and sometimes obsess about it. THEY DO NOT NEED TO TELL US BYE AND HAVE US TELL THEM WE WILL BE BACK. WE HAVE NOT ABANDONED THEM! That is for our human kids and grandkids. I am so lucky and in Feb. I left 7 babies of all ages with a boarding hotel for toy breeds mostly. It looked like I had packed for a whole herd. I took bags of dry kibble for each day with instructions as to how to mix it with the canned. Like they couldn't measure it themselves. Treats already broken into small pieces. Toys. Beds. Blankies w. who sleeps with whom..I am surprised they let me leave my babies there as I totally insulted them with all my instructions. My babies were happier there than when I leave them with my hubby in our own house. Where are you staying in Jamaica? If it is Negril, you gonna luv it!!!!! Their music will have you boppin' all the time. And, food--my mouth is watering. They have a green veggie called callalu(sp?) I ate bowls of it for breakfast.. Just bring back fun things for Schatzie!!! and pics for us!! |

| do you think that one of those toys that records your voice would be soothing to them or make it worse on them. (hearing but not seeing you).?

| I say, no voice thingy. I was one of those people that thought if I were going to be away for the day, I should call and talk to my babies when the answering machine picked up. I hid one day and played the message....they seemed to be upset and ran around and barked but just didn't seem to be happier, just confused. That was just my experience... |

Schatzie had her "2nd trial visit" last weekend and other than going on a hunger strike she did fine. It was just an overnight visit and I fed her a good breakfast figuring she wouldn't eat for the breeder. So I knew she wouldnt starve to death if she did decide to not eat. ( learning my little girls shenanigans quite well, LOL! ) Anyway, next Thursday she will be dropped off for 12 days but I keep telling myself "positive thoughts" and try to focus on not worrying... It will probably be good for both of us to have some time apart as at times I feel we are too close. ( Is there such a thing? ) Thanks again, and I will give the full update on her almost two week visit when I return from Jamaica!!

| Hello Schatzie's Mommie I know exactly what you mean....I, too, have to leave my little Kizsez behind next month for 4 days and I know I will be missing her so very much. She is my little girl and she will be staying with S-I-L and in her kennel. I will most certainly be calling her to know how she is doing too. My concern is that she has never been away from me since I have had her and that is 3 1/2 years. She sleeps with us and I will be missing that too.....but I also know that time will fly and before I know it we will be picking her up again. Have fun on your trip and I will try to do the same. Kizsez and Etbit send both of you many kisses and huggs!!!!
