| That is terrible what happened. But was your dog on a leash? Keeping him closer might help out in case this happens again. Plus you might have trouble calling the police on his dogs being loose if your dog was loose as well. I would first try to talk to the neighbor about it. Maybe there is a way he can keep better control of his dogs by keeping them inside or improving his fence. If he doesn't fix the problem then call the police/animal control for his dogs running loose. Thank god you two are both safe. |

| Rocco was on a leash. We were walking on the other side of the street. I took him to the vet cause he did have a puncture mark on his neck. I just called my husband and we are going to get animal control involved. There is no way that any dog or child is safe walking past their house. I want my vet bill covered too but I will just be happy if they have to revise their fence. I just don't want to be scared to go outside.

| I agree with everyone. I would report it right away. Big dogs should not be able to run free or get out of their yards...any dog for that matter. I am afraid of big dogs also and don't let mine anywhere near them even if the owner says they won't hurt my dogs. If that happened to me I would be having a nice big glass of wine right now...after I talked with the police! Take care and I hope everything works out. |

| Jank, wine sounds so good right now. I don't have any alcohol in the house but I am sooo wishing I did. My nerves are still all messed up. Thanks for all the support. I felt so alone cause I couldn't get ahold of my husband and we are new to the area so I really didn't have anyone to call. I appreciate it!

| Definitely report it! Two weeks ago I was walking Peanut back inside the house (we were only 3 steps from the door) when suddenly two pit bulls came out of nowhere and started barking growling and nudging Peanut. I started screaming my head off because Im scared of big dogs, but thankfully my reflexes kicked in and i actually kicked one away from Peanut and I also hit him with my purse No worries, I did not do any damage on the pit bulls, and Peanut suffered no physical wounds. although he is scared of the front yard now : ( |

| Why the heck do big dogs like to go after little dogs? Do they think of them as prey? I just called animal control. If I was attacked by a dog then I would have no qualms about reporting it. And since Rocco can't fend for himself, I have to do it. I feel bad cause maybe I should talk to the owner first but he was an idiot about the whole thing trying to convince me they were just playing. I bet he had other incidents like that and was scared I was going to report him.

If your baby had a puncture wound on his neck verified by the vet, this was an official attach with a bite. It shouldn't matter whether it was an animal or a person that was attacked. As all 3 dogs were involved in the attack, this neighbor has some serious issues at hand. A report definitely needs to be made with the information from your vet. Make sure they know the neighbor was calling you to "pick up your dog". He obviously knew what his dogs were capable of, which makes this all the worse. Give Rocco a big hug from us and tell him we are so glad you and he are okay.

| yes bigger dogs can & do think of smaller dogs as prey they will kill them ! i have a rottweiler that absolutely hates weenie dogs! i have no idea why! but she would kill one in a second i believe she would if she had 1/2 a chance .circling and growling isn't playing it's a pack mentality where they take turns attacking until they are done ! those people don't have beware of dog sign for nothing it's to try and help cover theirselves "there was a warning"! but how is anyone to know they are actually loose?! i woulda beat the crap out of those dogs and snatched mine up super quick, as best i could have anyways..im use to all kinds of dogs though! i wouldn't leave my rottie unattended around any other animals or people. it's just a given responsibility with large dogs. if you can't control or understand them and blow it off as just playing then you shouldn't have them at all! i would be infuriated!what's wrong with that guy?! neighbor or not. a big dogs bad enough but 3 that they can't control? sorry but that kinda thing just steams me! p.s my rottie is over 100lbs mind you lexus rottie and princess yorkie http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ters1/pets.jpg Last edited by Peters; 07-06-2006 at 04:51 PM. |

Yes and Yes I would call both and next time I take him for a walk I would carry him when I went passed that house. Some people are morons! I am glad that Rocco is okay God bless his little heart. I am also sorry that you had to go through that. Hugs to Rocco from Georgie and I.

| I agree with the last post. I read SOMEWHERE once that if you have a sign that reads BEWARE of DOG you are advertising Danger and if something happens it will come back to haunt you. Call the police, call the SPCA at least if nothing else you can make sure that this man has had all of his dogs vacinated and is up to date on their shots and that they all have registered dog licenses. Some states will take your dogs if they are not licensed and/ or impose a VERY HIGH fine. |

| OMG! I can't believe that happened! Your baby definitely had an angel watching him! I'm so glad he (and you!) are ok. Definitely call someone to take care of the "dog problem"....that's scary that they can jump their fence; it makes it so pointless! I hope you can relax a little....give your baby lots of hugs from me and Schatzi

| I hope that you and Rocco are feeling better tonight. You should report him. You and your dog and everybody else has a right to walk down the street without being threatened by dogs. He also was putting you at risk by telling you to pick up your dog as his dog is on top of Rocco. Some people are just ignorant fools. You and Rocco are lucky, do your best so that it doesn't happen again to you or somebody else with dire results. Sorry you had to experience that. JM |
