| My father's brittany spaniel did that. He would sit and look up at us and carry on quite a conversation. It was really interesting because he was definitely comminuting something (in his own way), and we didn't have a clue what he was saying. Sometimes I think this is the way dogs feel about us. We talk to them all the time - and, I'm sure most of the time, they really don't know have a clue as to what we are saying. Come on guys!!! Please don't tell me you think they understand English. I know they do pick up our tone and certainly become familiar with certain words - but there is a limit! Carol Jean |

| Topher is a quiet little man...doesn't say much and is very reserved (remember when I posted that he couldn't whine?) Well, he still doesn't...but every once and a while, when he's lying on the bed chewing on his favorite toy, and all is well with the world, he makes these little noises in the back of his throat as if to say "I'm SO happy!!" |
