| Talking Yorkie Does anyone else's Yorkie talk to them? My Brownie tries to talk to me sometimes. It's hard to explain the sound, it's like coming from her throat and she has her mouth a little bit open. She does this when I tell her 'no' and it seems like she's talking back and when I tell her to stop doing it, she keeps on, just like a child. Sometimes when I'm asking her to stand still to take a photo, and she's still for too long, she'll make the same sounds like telling me to hurry up. The best is when we're in bed and I'm stroking her and talking to her, she'll make the same sounds, just like she's answering my questions or trying to pillow talk to me. It's just so cute I just wanted to share

| That's so cute. Dixie talks back to me like that. Sort of little grumbly noises. Dougal does yorkie "purring" when he's happy. He makes sort of squeeky wheezy noises. He also makes the funniest grumbly noise when he's playing.

| Georgie is definitely a talker. He makes odd noises sometimes and I swear I could train him to talk, I have never been around a dog that so much like a human. When I come home I always ask him how was his day and to tell me about it and he whines and makes funny noises as if we are having a conversation

| Ginger is the queen of body language, she definitely uses it to try to manipulate things around here, but nothing verbal. But I had a tiny little shihtzu who lived to be almost 16. She was 6 lbs soaking wet, and ruled this place (and all its inhabitants, human and canine) like the little princess she believed she was. She talked alot! Seemed like she always had something to say!!! I'd forgotten about that, thanks for the memory!!! sob...going to look for pics of Shelby

| All the Yorkies I have had talked, though Dennis is a lot more talkative than the rest. He can really go on…he makes me laugh. I use the same sounds back to him and I don’t know what I am saying but he seems to understand, and as Yorkies do, he smiles. |

| It must be a Yorkie trait. My daughter thinks I am nuts when I tell her Buddy is talking to me. It happens whenever I am doing something else and he is not involved. He seems to voice his opinion because he is not getting the attention he seems to think he should be getting. Something like throat grumbles and vocal grumbling. Amazing! |

| Reuger talks alot!! He will sit in front of the door and let me know that he wants out. This last month my daughter, who lives close by, had a lab-mix dog that went into heat. Reuger just about drove us all crazy by sitting by the door and letting us know that he needed to be outside. He was in and out, in and out. I'm so glad that she's finally out of heat!!!

| Of course they talk! Chattie's name was going to be Wicket or Chewbacha, I had reserved one of those two names, but.... she was a very Chattie little puppy. She would look at me and turn her head each way and try to hard to tell me what she was thinking (or give me a piece of her mind). |

| Jaxon talks a lot too, especially when he's being cheeky. He'll bite at my pant leg or flip flop, so I tell him 'NO' and he does this throaty growl noise. He talks to his toys sometimes too!

| Kizzy tries. She will come up to me and cock her lil head like look at me and does a squeaky sound. Like a whine but she just sounds like a rat squeaking. say, what you want baby and she'll cock her head the other way and squeak some more and I'll get up and see where she goes. If she goes to a toy, I know she wants me to play with her. of if she starts down the hall I know she wants outside or she'll go to her water and food bowl I'll know she wants water if she has already eaten. I guess you just have to figure out those little squeaks by letting them show you.

| Can any of your Yorkies talk on command or do they just talk when they want to?
