My father's brittany spaniel did that. He would sit and look up at us and carry on quite a conversation. It was really interesting because he was definitely comminuting something (in his own way), and we didn't have a clue what he was saying. Sometimes I think this is the way dogs feel about us. We talk to them all the time - and, I'm sure most of the time, they really don't know have a clue as to what we are saying. Come on guys!!! Please don't tell me you think they understand English. I know they do pick up our tone and certainly become familiar with certain words - but there is a limit!
