Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Yup ...put the shoes in the closet and shut the door ....anything you don't want chewed - put it out of reach. |

| I'm with ya! My dog did the same thing. The first thing I did when I found that he ate my shoes was let him know that I was NOT happy. No matter how cute he was, he did not receive any attention from me. I held the shoe to his face and said "no" sternly. Most importantly! What I learned that I was doing wrong was not making his toys novel. I left all of his toys out 24/7 for him to play with. The made his toys unappealing and boring. Now, I keep them ALL in a drawer all day long. When he is in the mood to play, or I see him chewing, I will pull out the drawer, put it on the floor and let him pull out a toy of his choice for him to chew on. It's really cute. Ever since I did that, he doesn't have as much interest in chewing on my shoes. Unless he is mad at me of course for not giving him enough attention when Im working. Good luck! Hope this helps! |

| Oh, how I can relate...and I agree with Villette!! The only way I've found to stop this is to put the shoes in a place where they can't be reached. Hubby has an old pair of moccasins with real fur around the ankle part...lets just say that there's not much fur left on these things...lol...Topher de'furred them both! (they were not very attractive moccasins to begin with, so I'm kinda glad that hubby can't wear them anymore...lol...our secret!!) I have a back entryway where we keep all of our shoes and Topher won't go in there because he won't climb down the three stairs it takes to get there...thank heavens. He'd be in shoe heaven there!! |
