I'm with ya! My dog did the same thing. The first thing I did when I found that he ate my shoes was let him know that I was NOT happy. No matter how cute he was, he did not receive any attention from me. I held the shoe to his face and said "no" sternly.
Most importantly! What I learned that I was doing wrong was not making his toys novel. I left all of his toys out 24/7 for him to play with. The made his toys unappealing and boring. Now, I keep them ALL in a drawer all day long. When he is in the mood to play, or I see him chewing, I will pull out the drawer, put it on the floor and let him pull out a toy of his choice for him to chew on. It's really cute. Ever since I did that, he doesn't have as much interest in chewing on my shoes. Unless he is mad at me of course for not giving him enough attention when Im working.
Good luck! Hope this helps! |
