I have major seperation anxiety. While I am at work ( I am a hairdresser) every ONE of my customers ask me how Luigi is doing like he is a child or something. I have my doggy brag book with me at all times and his picture is hanging on my station. My hubby does too. Yesterday, he called me at work to ask me if I thought Luig was OK because we had some really bad thunderstorms come thru, and he was home alone. He was soooo nervous for him.
Also this Sunday-we are leaving for vacatoin for 8 days and I am already a nervous wreck. My girlfriend came over tonite to go over everything with her and I started crying just talking to her about being gone a whole week. She told I was crazy.

I've got a picture of Corky taped inside of my car so when I'm going to school and coming home he's always there. lol. He's the background on my cell phone, and I've got 5 pictures in my wallet. He's like my son, I love him to death! lol

Great post...
You see I can always count on YT to reassure the fact that I'm not whacky! When I first got Cookie I had to make sure someone was with her at every moment if I wasn't there w/ her. I would wait for my mom to get up before jumping in the shower or I would put Cookie in bed w/ her... Now when I jump in the shower, Cookie follows me into the bathroom and simply curls up and makes a comfy bed out of my pjs. The worst was when she used to cry as I left for work...I'd walk to my car in tears!!! My mom would stay w/ her in the house but I guess Cookie is sooo attached to me its just not the same. Thank goodness she grew out of that...i guess furbabies go through phases like little kids! I am also guilty of passing up on outings..."What about Cookie?" is a very common phrase in my head before responding. I have pictures of her up in my office, cell phone background, frig, etc. So yeah I definitely think it goes both ways...

I think my boyfriend feels a little neglected because when I"m gone and I get home I pick up Baby and give her kisses way before i remember that I missed him. He used to just look at me now he doesn't even bother; he knows his kisses are coming after Baby gets hers!!!

My seperation anxiety is just as bad, I am so attached to my baby sami and tilly! they follow me everywhere! I have to sneek or run to the bathroom because if I don't they are fighting for attention while Im trying to use the bathroom there both at my knees one behind & between my legs both wanting to be picked up! So my big anxiety fix for them & myself when I have to leave them both I turn on the childrens cartoons and sami (5 months) will actually watch cartoons, Tilly can care less ( she's is 10 yrs old) and it makes sami feel someone is there

My separation anxiety is horrible. When I take my kids to school or go to the grocery store I am always thinking of my babies. This Saturday we are supposed to go to a friends' house who has cats so we can't bring our babies and it is tearing me up. More than likely, I will walk back home to check on the girls. Tia stays in her play-yard (since she isn't potty trained) and Sandy gets the run of the house since she is. I just worry that I am neglecting them when I am gone. I know it is crazy, but it was the same way with my children. It took about two years before I would agree to go on a "girls night out"

RubyC if you are whacky ... then we all are!! Patrick nor I can bear to leave Toto alone ... we plan everything around her and if she can't go, we don't!! Rarely, unless it's an absolute necessity do we ever leave her alone for any reason! Usually just one of us will go to the grocery or other shopping errands where she isn't allowed ... otherwise we only shop where she is welcomed also! We had to go to an important dinner [work related] and were late ... I appoligized because I had to feed Toto her dinner and I saw some of those "looks"!! We didn't care ... we mingled ... had some drinks ... ate ... watched the clock ... and left early!!! I thought everybody did that!!

Thank goodness I am not the only one who constantly worries about my baby and miss her when I am gone. I always think about her when I am away. I take her everywhere that she is allowed. I treat her as if she is a person. I talk to her and ask her questions. I know she isn't going to answer but sometimes I swear she knows what I am saying!!

When I first got Mason, I used to get very emotional leaving for work in the morning....I would get in the elevator and tears would well up in my eyes. My boyfriend was like, "you got issues!" Now, I'm much better - probably because I have taken all my old family/friend pictures at work and replaced them with Mason's
RIght now I have 2 framed pics of Mason on my desk, 2 more pics on my bulletin board on the wall, and a screensaver of Mason on my computer Mason is always with me even if not in physical sense.

Heck, it was so bad for me that when I went on vacation I took her with me and would not go anyplace that they wouldn't let me take her. Thank God Texas was dog friendly however the only place I had a problem was once in Mississippi I said no problem and went to the next town. I take her to the grocery store, Wally World everywhere and not once except that one place has anyone ever said leave. Besides with the boys constantly trying to use her as a soccer ball I don't dare leave her at home to their mercy. They would probably figure out how to get the carrier open. Elmo already opens closets and doors and cabinets. He reminds me of a cutter I use to have, except I can't ride him. PS the boys are my cats!

It is so nice to know I am not the only one....When I am at class or at work I cannot wait to get home to see my puppy!! It is the fact that she makes me SO happy. I am away at school and miss my family and boyfriend terribly but her sweet little face and when she cuddles me while we watch TV makes everything all better...I am having major seperation anxiety right now....I have to leave her with my mom and dad for the next 3 weeks because my landlord caught me with puppy and said I can't have her there....school is almost over!! Thank goodness...What am I gonna do without little graice there to greet me when I get home from work or school!! I tear up just thinking about tommorow when I have to leave her...is is stupid that I think no one can take care of her as well as I can...especially cause my mom is awesome and she has both of thier dogs to play with.

I have had Sadie for five days, and I walk three miles a day. For the past week, I have had a bum hip/leg - not sure just what it is, but I stupidly ran today just so I could get it over with and be with her.

When I get out of the shower, she is sitting on the countertop waiting for me, and looking at me. She does not have to jump high to get on the counter as
there is a wooden built in box and she jumps up on that first.

When I go to the store, I always get her something, so I feel like the trip is worthwhile. Today I got this spray stuff at Walmart that you spray on their coats. It says the groomers use it. I just used a little bit, and she smells lovely.

Tonight, I realized just how bad my "separation anxiety" is when I have to leave Sully....even to shower! Lately, when I shower, I just KNOW that Sully will whine outside the door (even if my hubby is home). So...knowing this, I take his pillow bed into the bathroom with me, and he curls up in the corner. He's content, knowing I'm right behind the shower curtain. We've been doing this routine for months now.

Well...tonight, when I stepped out of the shower, Sully got up from his pillow, walked over to me (I'm dripping wet standing on the bathmat) and Sully started licking the water off of my ankle. He was trying to help dry me off! I wasn't sure to laugh, cry or both. It was a very cute/funny moment!!!

How bad is YOUR separation anxiety? What kind of funny/silly things do you do to be with them all the time?

I just wanted to ask you, are you not allowed to have pets where you live? Just a question... cause my husband and I aren't allowed to have pets in our house (were renting right now), but we have our cat... and I plan on getting a yorkie soon... Just curious... Being with Schatzie day in and night it is very tough I have found to be away from her. Schatzie spent the night at her breeders for one night this weekend and I couldn't do enough to keep my mind off her.

This morning didn't come quick enough to go pick her up. (She did just fine)
