I got tears in my eyes when I read about what Sulley does, My Shelbie used to do the exact same thing! Now that she is gone, it still hurts every time I get out of the shower. sometimes I smile and think of her. It's funny, they are such a major part of our lives and no one except other yorkie owners realize that.

Tonight, I realized just how bad my "separation anxiety" is when I have to leave Sully....even to shower! Lately, when I shower, I just KNOW that Sully will whine outside the door (even if my hubby is home). So...knowing this, I take his pillow bed into the bathroom with me, and he curls up in the corner. He's content, knowing I'm right behind the shower curtain. We've been doing this routine for months now.

Well...tonight, when I stepped out of the shower, Sully got up from his pillow, walked over to me (I'm dripping wet standing on the bathmat) and Sully
started licking the water off of my ankle. He was trying to help dry me off! I wasn't sure to laugh, cry or both. It was a very cute/funny moment!!!

How bad is YOUR separation anxiety? What kind of funny/silly things do you do to be with them all the time?

Mollie does this to us every time we get out of the shower. Not just to me but to my husband & son as well. My son dosen't care much for it and tells her to stop. It dosen't really bother me to much. She will not stay in the bathroom while we are in the shower, she's afraid she's going to be next. She lays outside the door in my bedroom. Or in the hall outside the other bathroom.

Wow I miss Lucy at the moment! She is in the other room asleep on her beanbag and I miss her so much! It was really bad this week, Mum and Dad took her on holiday for a few days to the sea side. I was utterly lost without my Lucy and I made Mum put her on the phone with me- not productive conversations, just lots of sniffing noises from her, ah well she could probably smell my comfort chocolate

Omg I am the worst!

I always wondered if I should post what it's like with Kiko, I figured everyone would think I was nuts lol. Kiko was so tiny when I first got him and once he had a hypoglycemic attack. I never really could find myself leaving him alone. He follows me to the bathroom and stares at me or lays down to wait lol if I shut him out he cries and howls this little sound that sounds like sneakers squeaking on a shiny floor.
So when I had to go outside I found myself taking him with me in my handbag, he really liked it right from the get go. From the very begining he was driving with me everywhere buckled in at the passenger's side and by my side in the bag when we get to a place where "dogs aren't aloud". He loves the car, he loves sticking his head out the bag when we are outside in an area it's not safe to put him down so that he can see all the new places.
I have to admit that I just can't leave him home, he has gone to all kinds of stores from Target to Wendy's. It gets worse tho, this is were everyone will think I am the nuttiest of the nutty, my husband has taken us out to eat in fancy restaurants and guess who happily comes along!! No one knows that my little Kiko is with us lol. My hand bag is like a juicy bag with lots of room and open mesh breathing holes, It just looks so much like a regular handbag and no one knows he's there. He is so active all day that when it's time to sit at a place to eat he just conks right out! He has been to places you wouldn't believe if I told you and he loves it!
I took him to this amusement theme park where dogs are partially allowed in the picnic and beach area and we had a blast, when it was time to go to the rides area guess who came along into the park snoozing in the bag after a long day of running in the picnic area and beach? LOL I even took him on the carousel ride it! He seems to love movement. I was wondering the whole time how many other pooches had ever been on a carousel ride? Now that's only happened once, it's not a regular event but you get the idea of how hard it is to leave him behind.
The cutest thing is when I get the bag out and put it on the ground he jumps right in and settles down looking at me like "ok I'm ready to go where ever we are off to!" So my separation anxiety is super bad lol. OK and to top it all off, even though I take a bath every day, most every other day after I take a shower I grab all 2 pounds of him and I have his shampoo right next to mine he gets a bath right after me and we are ready to go.
Now to be honest I don't go out everyday to shopping areas and such. I work from home so for the most part he has a regular doggie life but when it's time for mommy to go out you better believe he is like you are NOT leaving without me mom! We love being with each other.

This is making me feel soooooooooo much better. This week Shelby has been going nuts when I leave her. (last night she jumped out of her pen and was running around in our room...)

I don't howl like she does but I miss her so much I feel sick. Literally ill.

Good to know I am normal

I have a bed in the bathroom for Gus too. I just posted my story in the tread "Carriers vs. Crates vs. cages"

I get really bad when it comes to leaving Gus behind. I usually take him everywhere with me. Just last Friday I had a doctors appointment and just couldn't take him with me. My kids were here with their grandfather, but I really feel this fear that something will happen to him while I'm gone. I can't help it. I have to set the rules when I leave. No picking him up. No answering the door without unless Gus is locked in his room. (Well this is a rule when I'm here as well. Because one time Gus ran out after a cat) And if he has to go out, put the leash on him and take him out and come right back it. My oldest is 14 going on 40. I totally trust her with her brother and sister. But when it comes to Gus I worry so much. I even worry when he's here with my husband. I was so happy they took me in quick and was only gone for about 2 hours total. I don't know who was happier to see who,,,,, me or him. My daughter says "I don't know why you worry so much he doesn't even like to play with us when your gone. He just sits there and waits for you to come home, and even if we pick him up and bring him in the other room he will go right back to his spot where he can keep an eye on the door and wait for you to walk in"

I am going to a wedding at the end of this month and he's coming with my husband and I..we are also going to new orleans for another wedding in May and he'll be with us. We change our plans as well to suit him (whether it's where we go for dinner or not catching a movie, etc.) are soo attached to him. I love having him around. In the car we chat (or I chat, he just looks at me) or I'll sing to him. LOL...I must sound like a nut. But I am CRAZY about my little baby.
I am very lucky because at my local Stater Bors. and Walmart, they all know Gus and have no problems with me taking him in when I'm shopping. As long as he stays in is doggy bag they have no problem with it. When I go to Stater Bros without him they ask me why I didn't bring him. Gus has been to a Wedding too sporting his bowtie. They all loved him.

Good to know I'm not the only one!!! I have MAJOR seperation anxiety. While I'm at work, all I can think of is when the clock will strike 430 so I can jump on my train and get home to her. Friends call to hang out, family calls to talk and I don't want to do any of it. I just want to sit and watch my baby do poopy dance and silly stuff. She also licks my legs when i get out of the shower. She used to cry a lot when I showered but one time I took her in there with me, and she stopped crying after that, because she knew what was in there.

I have Anxiety panic attacks, BObo seems to know when they are starting and he will lick my hand and nudge me to make me pet him. I miss my dogs when they are not with me. I always want to go to pet smart when we go somewhere cause two or three of them can go with me.
