| POLL: Hair between the eyes? Short? Long? This is my first poll, so I hope I am doing this right! Do you cut the hair in between your yorkies eyes, or leave it long? When Esme first went to the groomers, they cut it. Now she has another appointment next week, and I am debating on whether to let it grow, or cut it again. I like it cut, but I also like the look of a top knot with all the hair picked up... Also, I am unsure about the painful growing out process... SO, please tell me, what do you do? If you have pics you can post, please do. Thanks!!!!

| I'm leaving Bailey's alone. But then again, I am planning on showing him. It doesn't take that long for it to grow out & become managable... |

| i go for leaving it alone...even if you do not plan on showing or growing a full coat, it is just easier to maintain IMO!

| I leave my girls' alone. Sandy's is all grown out now and I like the "show yorkie" look and that is what I want to try for with Tia (even though she isn't show quality - I just want to see the long hair) I may end up cutting it in a few years, but I'd like to try to grow it out. Also, I've heard that after you shave it, it is hard to grow out, or hard to manage while growing out.

| Schatzie's is growing out, almost there. When she was a young pup the groomer shaved between the eyes, ... I made her promise me she'd NEVER do that again! I feel it's the hair is easier to maintain when it's longer. Of course getting it to that point is a pain.

| Growing out pains! Last December, a Groomer @ Petco shaved in between his eyes, even though I did not tell her to do this! And to make matters worse she shaved around the tip of his nose. I asked her to put a bow in his topnot and she also shaved his eye lashes and eye brows. I was furious Growing it out is a pain but I know he looks better with it all long. I just keep repeating "It will grow back"! With Abigail my 10 week old I'm letting it all grow out too. I like it long and I do all the Grooming to maintain it. |

| I cut Oreo and Ginger's hair between the eyes because it pokes their little eyes so bad that it's so watery and itchy.. so i cut it myself i don't plan to show or anything, just to make them happy little campers |

| I'm letting it grow long. Right now I can't get all the hair to stay in the top knot so he looks like he has bangs.

| The breeder who had my dog must've cut her hair short there b/c it's so difficult for me to put a bow or tie in her hair. Aside from that she knows it's there and winds up taking it out somehow. What is ya'lls method for this? She looks so cute with it in..is it just something some dogs can tolerate and others cant? |

I found it was much easier to start with clips (could be a choking hazard so you have to watch her while they are in) for short periods of time and when he was used to them, moved on to bands.

| I plan to leave Chelsey's hair to grow i only cut those short pieces that poke her in the eyes... i see a lot of puppies where those hairs get in the eyes and even tho i might not even know the dogs i try to whipe them out of their eyes coz i can only imagine how irritating that must be.
