| ![]() I think only you knows what's best for your household and your girl and the other dogs. I also think deep inside you knew what to do (by reading your posts) you just wanted or needed confirmation. Trust in yourself, sounds to me like you've got it together and really didn't need other opinions on this. ![]()

Maybe you're right. I don't have a lot of confidence in myself. I like to ask a lot of opinions to see if the path I've chosen is the correct one. I figure that if lots of people agree with my opinion or very close to it, then I've made the best choice possible. I figure lots of people can't be wrong if they all agree. Thanks, Sylvia

| ![]() Sylvia..sorry..LOL I am not concerned about this new girl becoming a good mother..in all the years of breeding, I have never had a girl reject her pups or be aggressive with her own..it is perfectly normal for some virgin bitches to be leery of puppies if she had never been around them...look at wolves, apes, etc..many kill the offspring of other females,, but would fight to the death for their own. We attach too many human emotions to our dogs..and they are animals. If this girl is what you want in your breeding program..give her time to adjust, keep her away from the pups..her behavior has no bearing on her true temperament at this point. My Kate is gentle as a lamb..but when Emee came I had no idea if she would be sweet with her..I introduced them at 12 weeks..Kate growled the first time Emee tried to get in her bed, then she ignored her, but by the next day they were doing well, and now they are glued to each other. Kate had never met a puppy.. Good Luck... |

| ![]() That is good...you have established yourself as pack leader..it takes the stress off the dog..they do not like that role..or so the Dog Whisper and others say...I have heard of bitches killing their pups..the only first hand knowledge I know was a friend girls who had a section and woke up to find pups on her teets...I think a few of us would be freak out to wake up and find 4 babies nursing on us..LOL Usually, when a bitch kills pups it is the results of a stress situation... Goos luck... |

| ![]() I had a mini pin that I got as a pet but she had been bred before. when Tasha had her litter she was fine..but jersey had her's 3 weeks later..One of those pups was a cleft pallet pup. Tyra would try to steal him but she would also try to attack the other pups so i had to keep them seperated..but what she did was in the place of the pup she stole a sock and nursed the sock for what felt like forever lol..but she left the others alone I'd say don't breed her this heat. She needs time to adjust to her new home. If she continues to show aggression past her being in heat and is settled then I would never breed her because she could just be an aggressive dog..and therefore not a good one to breed. If this were me. I honestly wouldn't breed her period not knowing her full history. But if you feel you want to breed her..def don't do it this heat. She isn't calm and settled..and in order for her to have a good pg and nice calm pups she needs to be that herself. Good luck. I hope i've been of some help either way whatever you decide that is best for you and your girl I hope it all works out.

| ![]() I too am sorry for you. It is heartbreaking isn't it..But all we can do is try and do our best. There could of been reasons that you couldn't see on why she passed away. You did your best and thats what matters. It took me time to come to that realization myself. It's hard not to blame ourselves.. By the way..I'm Christy and it's nice to meet you..

We have 3 grandchildren we are raising as our own, 12yo boy, 10yo girl and a 9yo girl. Then besides my husband and myself we have an adult son who moved back home and now my pregnant future dil has moved in with her neutered Chow/Lab mix. There are some cats that claim us but we don't claim them. Hmmm, 3 or 4 of them. All of us in the same small 3 bdrm house except the cats. At least some of yours are outside! LOL I don't have a fenced yard but we are looking for another home. We have one of those big portable yard for the bigger dogs to go out during the day but it's been awfully hot so the only one going out is my dil's chow/lab mix. I don't have a website and I don't remember if I have any pics posted here or not. I haven't been around this site too much for a long while. I will check and see. Sylvia
