Cruel to use this anti-bark collar?

The only ideas I can offer are:

*Play like the dickens for 1/2 hour to 45 minutes before bedtime.
*Let her have a drink before going to bed then let her potty
*No food before bed time
*Put her in a small crate (not the x-pen) next to your other Yorkie. About an inch apart. I usually put in a small safe chew toy, rope, nylabone, etc.
*Put in the ear plugs, sleep well
*Get up earlier than normal to let her go potty, should only take a few days

She may never out grow barking all together, but this should get her through the night. Hope this helps you.

Does anyone know if this will hurt a 3 month old yorkie? We're so fed up with her constant barking in the middle of the night. We've tried sleeping near her (not on the same bed), placing our shirt in her sleep area, radio, ignoring her (which only seems to stop the barking/crying if she goes on for at least 1.5 hours), covering her ex pen with a blanket as our puppy trainer suggested) and treating her when she stops barking for the quick second she quiets down like our trainer recommended, shaking the can with pennies at her which lasts all but a few seconds, telling her no/uh oh, 'shhh', be quiet, everything else everyone here suggested that posted about last week, taking a fly swatter and showing it to her and saying 'uh uh', squirting water at her, etc etc.

It occurs in the middle of the night, 5am, when we come home from work, and when we do not give her enough attention and it goes on for hours, the girl can bark up a storm. Otherwise, she is a sweet puppy

My Annika is quite the barker too and she can do this for a while . . including when it is time for bed. If I leave her inside her crate (right next to my bed) she will go on like forever, but the minute I take her to bed, not a sound . . and she sleeps all through the night. Maybe your baby just wants to be close to you . . .have you tried having her sleep with you? They are such cuddlers I love it . . and I have 2, one on each side

great tip (from everyone)...my hubby and I were thinking of getting her to sleep in her taxi (she is currently but we leave the door open and put the taxi in the ex pen) with doors shut and getting up in the middle of the night to let her potty until she's old enough to hold for 8 hours.

Thank you everyone, for your responses. I'm disapointed to hear that she might be a natural barker. Hopefully the neighbors (who we really like) don't get too upset or report us to HOA (yup, we live in a HOA community that has strict rules to abide by) luckily it's a home and not an apt. that shares walls.

it's a great idea except, I don't want her to get used to it. I'm in a situation where hubby and I do not have kids yet but will in a year or two and when they come, we don't want our dogs to feel left out/depressed when more time is spent with the babies. When babies come, the puppies will have to leave the bed for the human babies and I don't want to depress the dog (a post I read on this site from someone who experienced this). So, we're trying everything we can to love our pups but not spoil them, which in the end will hurt them. That post said to love and treat your dog like a dog but make sure it knows it's place in our house...otherwise it'd be too spoiled and expect ALL our attention. That other dog from a fellow yorkietalk person got so depressed and wouldn't eat or look at them when they had human babies.

Yes, consistency is the key so if you do have plans of having babies and will take them to your bed, you better not start it. It was easy for me because I am done conceiving . So when I got my second yorkie, it would not be fair that she be in a crate and my Tiger with us . . . I got a few weird looks from my husband the first night but now . . . everything is cool!
