| Gonna be taking a long car ride soon... We are going on vacation the end of June to the mountains of NC. The yorkies are going as well. What does everyone like to use to travel with their pups, carriers, car seats or harnesses attached to seatbelts. There's not an enormous amount of room, as the 5 yr old is in the back as well with his car seat. Any advice welcomed. Also, what items do you take, just in case I forget something. Thanks.

| I am getting a lookout seat made that fits my two Yorkies. This way they are up where they can see and are harnessed in so they are safe. You can buy these as well but is seems where I live they are not that plentiful. Apparently Tinkerbells closet has them and you will find I think that in the states where you live that you will have no problem getting one. Good Luck on your first trip with the whole family. Have fun and enjoy your little ones fur and skin!! |

| My husband and I are driving from Wisconsin to Portland next week, and of course Trixie is coming along. Since my husband will be driving, I'll probably keep Trixie in my lap. I know this is bad, but that's probably where she'll have the most space and she'll be most comfortable. Usually she'll just sleep in my lap and get up to look out the window once in a while. Good luck on the road trip!

| I know there's more than two of you that travel with your yorkies!! Please help me here. Hubby is haivng a fit trying to figure out how the furkids are gonna travel. The trip is about 6-7 hours one way!!! They are too wild to be held all the way, and it's not that safe.

| If they are too wild, I'd get a car seat for them. You don't want to make it unsafe for them or distracting for you! Have you tried giving them their blankie, a toy that they like to make them confortable? I have Trixie's blanket on my lap and that's what she'll sleep on...

| Oscar goes everywhere with us and in our work, we are gone somedays 10 hours at a time. He rides on the console, in my lap or in the backseat. I know none of these are safe but he is happier that way. If I were you, I would take the largest crate that would fit in the room you have allowed in the rear of your car. Place in that crate a favorite blankie and lots of stuff they can chew on and still not destroy. Stop every hour or two and let them out to play, pottie and get something to drink. They might protest at first but traveling with them this way will be for the best...for everybody! Hope you have a great trip!

Where in NC are you going? We just took 2 trips this month. The first one we went to DE 12 1/2 hours. We stopped in Raleigh coming and going at my brothers it was about half way so that helped. We were in a truck. I took pillows and Mollie rode on my lap on the pillow and sleep most of the way and Wyatt laid in the floor board where he could get air from the air conditioner. I know this is not ideal but, had no choice in the matter. Then we went to VA for my grandfather's funeral and just got back last week and we had to do the same thing. I was going to board them but, just couldn't bring myself to do it. It just depends on the amount of space you have to work with. Have fun.

| We just traveled 2,400 miles with Toby. We had a lookout carseat, He didn't care for it . Would only stay in the back seat for about an hour at a time. Most of the time he road on the console or in my lap. Be sure and take bottled water and if your are going to be away from home for any length of time be sure to take a record of your furbaby's shots. Just in case. I think I had to pack more things for Toby then I did for myself. Crate, bed, blanket, toys, treats, food, water, car seat, medical papers, leash, harness, shampoo, conditioner, comb, the list went on and on. Hubby wasn't sure there would be room for his own things. Only one motel turned us away. In another week we will make the trip back home to Phoenix. Good luck traveling. Mom and Toby |

| I've only had Riley 2 wks but I've been taking her out at least every other day. I put her in a carrier & she seems to like it. She's quiet & naps. I just want her to be used to riding. |

| We are going to be near Boone...my son is obsessed with the mountains and Tweetsie Railroad so we figured we'd take him one more time. I love the mountains because it is so peaceful...my goal is to rest and have some quiet time!

Boone is beautiful. I haven't been there in a long time. We are orginially from VA, so when we go home we go through Asheville. I would love to live in that area. Maybe one of these years. Have a great trip.
