| My sister is wanting to drive up to Iowa at the end of July and if we go then Reagan will be going too. She'll probably just ride where ever, in our laps in the back seat on bags just where ever. We'll be taking a 4-runner and I was thinking about putting her bed behind the front seat and maybe she will sleep there some. Its beside a vent so we can keep her cool and she sleeps on the bed every day anyway. Realistically she probably won't even look at it. I'm also going to take her crate/pet taxi simply because I may need it once I get up there so it may come in handy on the actual trip. Have a fun and safe trip.

| I have a double lookout carseat for my dogs. They love it and I can even roll down the window and let them stick their heads out since they are safely buckled in. I put the chihuahua and jack russell in it and they have plenty of room. My yorkie is still to small to ride with them in it. When he gets a little bigger, I will start to strap him in it also. The double does take up quite a bit of room but I have had mine for about 6 years and couldn't live without it. My dogs love to go bye bye. Here is an example of what they look like. I bought mine on-line but don't remember who from. You can probably find it cheaper if you shop around a little. http://www.hunterk9.com/site/870877/product/333 |

| Mu hisband and I just got beck today from a road trip from CA to the Grand Canyon (about 7.5 hrs). I bought Coco a Outward Hound Booster Car Seat and she did great! I used to have her lay on my lap all the time and I knew I had to do something to keep her safe. I bought it at PetSmart for $25, which is not bad at all! It took her a little while to get used to it but she seemed to prefer it by the end of our trip. I am so happy that she is safe...now I feel even more guilty for having her on my lap all the time in the past. I would recommend to everyone to get a car seat for their puppies...They are for a good cause & they are fairly inexpensive (ohh and they are easy to put in your car). How can you go wrong??

| Pita has a lookout console carseat that she loves, but for long rides she switches back and forth between her carseat, a blanket in the back seat and my lap. The carseat is great and I wouldn't go without it!

Bailey rides on the console between us and is happy as a lark. She'll stay there all morning long, enjoying the view and the ride. We've been careless and lucky so far - we haven't had her restrained when she's there. That's changing before Saturday. Expecting to get or make a restraint that goes around the back of the car seat and attaches to her harness. No matter how good your furbaby is and no matter how careful you are - unpleasant stuff happens out on the road! | |
