| Help! Hello I am new to YorkieTalk and this is my first post. I am the proud momma to a yorkipoo who is tentativley named Buddy (we just got him today). The reason for my post is I was checking him out when I noticed some gunk (or so I thought) near his eye. I wet a q-tip to try to get it out but it wasnt budging. Well it was a tick ... I frieked out but I was able to remove it from his face. It was definitley a wood tick and I know they dont carry lyme disease but Im still a little worried. I checked him for any more and he looks ok. Im just a little skeeved out right now. Any advice/suggestions? PS - I got him from a private breeder who did take the puppies out on her lawn to go potty and get some fresh air. Im guessing thats how he got it. Thanks guys! |

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | Hello and welcome to YT! I found 4 ticks on Kloey this week and she is on advantage! I freaked out to, I hate ticks! If I were you I would let the breeder know about you finding the tick on him. I don't really know if you can give them anything when there so young. |

| welcome to YTalk! Tilly had a tick that we picked up on vacation to the trinity mountains, I didn't know she had one because she was also On adantage (switched to advantage plus) when I gave her a bath the next day upon returning home, It was right on her forehead all puffy and ugly looking. it did gross me out! I lit a match and put it on the tick and boy did that make him back out but he re-attached himself so I used Vaseline which smothered him and enabled me to grab it with the tweezers! I was worried to because it looked so sore and didn't really know if I got all it's head out. but anyway welcome again to the forum |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | He's so cute if that's him in your Avatar. Welcome. My sister's dogs have had several ticks on them the last few weeks and they are fine. I would get him et checked anyway since you just got him.

| Frontline is the only thing I can put on Baby. I tried k9 advantix and she had a seizure. I bathed her twice and ended up taking her to the vet. That was my experience. |
