Unfortunately, the CKC (Continental KC) will register non-purebred litters..they do not require the breeder to do any DNA...so you have no recourse with them. I would take a number of photo's front back..etc..and a copy of the standard. Send it to the breeder..you will get no monitary compensation, but will have informed this breeder that you know you were not sold a purebred Yorkie. Nicely tell the breeder on days when she wonders why things keep going wrong in her life she can think about her cheating you out of $900. I am serious, a woman stole $400 from me and I told her the exact same thing..it took a year, but out of the blue, she sent me a check and she wrote the word "UNCLE" on a piece of paper. Your girl is special and a sweetheart I am sure..!

I am positive that what you have is a terrier mix and it is definately not a quality purebred yorkie. It's coat is not what a yorkie should be. It also has a very long nose and a large body, like a pug or pekanese. I can post some pics of my 8 month old yorkie if you like. I feel bad that you were mislead. Did you see the parents on the facility? Were there lots of other dogs? There is a chance that this one might have ended up with a different father. More than one dog can father a litter. But it is her responsibility to take care of it. I do not think CKC will DNA test like AKC will. If an AKC dog is disputed, they take it VERY seriously. First try to deal with it through her and see if she can give you back at least SOME money. Then I would see what I could do about proving it is a mix, by DNA testing or whatever. Then after you have your proof, sue her for the difference of the $900 you paid and average terrior mix You were mislead and there are laws against this. Please don't let her continue to breed like this. I just hope that all of the other owners of that litter as just as loving as you and don't end up throwing the dog away because it's not what was expected. Please stop her. And you can find an AKC yorkie for a decent price. Mine was $500 and she has her papers. But your dog is very cute. I'm so happy you are keeping her. She looks like a wonderful addition to your family.

Thanks for your words of wisdom. I have already emailed the breeder pics of her and of course no reply, I will give her till monday and if still no reply I will inform her that I am going to report her to the ckc for the mere fact that I don't want her getting away with selling pups like that to other people. If anything good comes of this, she will sit back and realize what she is doing and maybe just maybe someone else won't get ripped off like me.

| Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | She is still only 7 months old and while to me - she doesn't look fullblooded ...she sure has most of the yorkie look to her ....and if you love her - then that's what counts. She looks like a little sweetie There are alot of breeders out there who don't care what they're breeding as long as they get our money - and yes - some do NOT tell the truth - If I were you - try to report that breeder if you can. I can see you love her and it's a shame someone would take advantage of you - but these days - it's happening more and more. The worst scams are the ones where people spend money and don't even get a puppy - so You are a lucky one to have her and I wish you all the best ... The other way to look at this is... she is HEALTHY !! That is a huge bonus - and we see lots of sad stories right here on this site & who knows ? she may change and end up with lots of hair - Just looking at Jaspersmom's baby is proof of how much a yorkie can change....and go for it with the bows - if you start now - by the time she has longer hair she'll be used to them. |

There were only 2 pups of that littler one girl and one boy. boy was already sold. Yes I saw who she said were the parents and they were beautiful. They were yorkies. That is why I bought her. I made the comment when I was holding her about her hair, I asked why is her hair so short and she said she is a baby and it will come in fast. I believed her and this is what I got. I love my little baby and would not part with her but you know when you want a Yorkie you must have a Yorkie. I will save my money again and when I have enoug I will get another one. I will still keep my little girl though she is part of my family. My 4 yr. old daughter made the comment that "I don't care what she looks like mommy she is my little snicker bar" How can I argue with that. meeshue

I am sorry you are in such a tough spot and I think you are handling this the best that anyone could. Just by posting your experience here, you could help someone who is looking for a pup. The popularity of these dogs means more terrible breeders will try to take advantage of people. No offense, but I wonder if the poor quality of the photo might make the dog's appearance look even more unusual. 5lbs. is still pretty small, but she looks thick in the middle? Is she, or is it just the photo? It also looks like she has floppy little ears? Did you ever try to get the ears to stand? I agree with most people that she may have a little mix in her...but then again if you look around the gallery at YT there are a lot of different looks for these dogs. Some are just examples of pet quality Yorkies that shouldn't have ever been bred. It's sad but your case is not the first and it won't be the last. It's why most of us on YT try to educate people to ONLY support breeders who breed for the standard. Write the breeder, get it off your chest then just love your little dog. In my opinion, she has enough Yorkie in her to make her priceless.
