Is my yorkie a YORKIE! 4 Attachment(s) Hi everyone, need some input. I bought this little yorkie from a private breeder and she is ckc reg. She is suppose to be purebred! I am posting pics, please let me know what you think. Thanks meeshue |
I'll let the experts kick in She is awful cute!! Love her up!! Welcome to YT!:welcome4: |
all i know is that she one cute pup |
she is cute but i am not sure if she is a yorkie???????? |
She does look like a little lovey! However, I don't think (just my opinion) that she is 100% yorkie. BUT, that doesn't take away from her being a great pet! |
She's a very cute pup, but I don't think she's 100% yorkie either. Maybe a Yorkie-poo? I'm not sure. |
i looked again...let me ask....how old? how much does she weigh? look at the akc site for the standard yorkie. she does look like a mix. definitely not a purebred |
Thank you so much but she is not exactly what I wanted. She is 7 months old and she still has hardly any hair. I paid $900 for her and I feel I got ripped off. She does not look like any 7 month old yorkie I've seen. I love her to death and my 4 year old daughter just adores her but still in the back of my head I feel like I really don't have a yorkie. I have been saving for a year to buy her and well ya know. I had in mind a little furbaby. She is only 5lbs. Sorry about the pics my digital camera's memory card is full. need a new one. Thank you so much for the nice words. meeshue |
I contacted the breeder and she asked me to send pics of her and I did and guess what. No reply. Did anyone ever have their pup dna tested. I was thinking that if I get no satisfaction from the breeder that I would contact the ckc and have her dna tested, only I do not know how much that would cost. If I challenge her I have to pay for my pup and the mom and dad to get tested. Anyone out there ever go through that? Thanks |
sent you a private message. |
I questioned my Wosie too! Quote:
The other thought I had was that maybe your baby came from two yorkies, and thus is "pure" as this breeder understands it, but it could be possible (breeders can confirm or tell me I am nuts) that there was a mix in the background of the mother or father, and it's standing out as dominant genetics in your pup. It took forever for my Wosie's hair to come in! I began to use "Missing Link" when she was 4 or 5 months old, and she is growing a nice coat now. If you can't track down your breeder, chalk this up to experience and just continue to love your little girl for the rest of her life. If you have your heart set on a more standard yorkie, then you need to start saving your pennies again! Two yorkies are MUCH better than one anyway!:p |
I know this doesn't help, but gosh, she sure is cute! |
4 Attachment(s) My baby Sango was a late bloomer. Here a pictures of her at about 4 months, and a more recent picture of her. Perhaps your baby could be a late bloomer also? |
my baby is 7 months and looks like that how old was your pup before it started to look like a yorkie? Any pics? meeshue |
I am not by far an expert, but your dog does look like it may be mixed. She is still a cutie and you should be very proud to have her. What bothers me is that you saved up your money and paid $900 to someone who sold you a "purebred" dog under false pretenses. I'm sure it took you a while to save up, as it would me, and you deserve to get what you paid for. In the end, you have a sweet, wonderful dog who is sure to bring you and your daughter many years of joy, but this "breeder" made money off of you and is probably doing the same thing to other hard working people. It is just wrong!! |
