| Back to the subject though....Coach is a pet friendly store. I brought Luca there to buy his collar and they were great with us. Of course, if someone was spending almost $40 on a dog collar and I was getting commission off that, I'd be friendly too!

I've found it disapointing that there are so few places that welcome small dogs - as I was looking forward to taking her everywhere with me!

| I used to work downtown Seattle Nordstrom...I would get the biggest kick out of all the little 4-legged shoppers! I would crack up when I would see dog's with their nail's polished, 'I would say only at Nordstrom'! I have taken Rocco inside my purse(I just buy 'shopper'style purses) into the mall...as long as it is a short trip, not a problem. My 3 month Bella is a monster...NO WAY will I take her anywhere right now! I have also taken Rocco into Wal-mart, but I stay out of the food section...no problem. Costco is not tolerant to pets, I didn't try sneaking Rocco in, I asked. Ross Dress 4 Less in Kent, Longview, Puyallup and Tacoma have welcomed Rocco, too. I usually lay him in the cart on a blanket. TJ Maxx in Tacoma has been cool, too. As well as Lowe's & Home Depot & McLendon's. Boy, except for Safeway & Target those are all the places I shop! I got kicked out of the Union Street Target in Tacoma a few weeks ago with Bella, then age 8 weeks, who was sleeping in a baby blanket. They were soooo rude. I read someone's post about their experience and I think someone needs to talk to Target about how they handle these situations. Rudeness isn't a form of customer service.

I also take Gus everywhere as well. He LOVES his carrier! He sees me getting my shoes on hears those words "lets go" or hears the keys, he runs to his bag and backs in. As long as he's by momma's side he's one happy little guy!

Gus is one of my favorite yorkies. Can he come up North and give some lessons? Thanks for sharing, I am saving that clip in my favorites.

| How cute that video of Gus is. What type of bags do you use? I would love to take Daisy with me some places but all i have to put her in is the stroller. I have this one, but Daisy doesnt like to stay in it http://www.gollygear.com/pawpurse.html |

| I've tried fancy purse carriers but Gus just hates them. And as you can see he love's his carrier. It's roomy. He can move, turn and stand. It has mesh vents on top, front and sides so he can see what's going on. With the purse like carriers, they are not comfortable, He can't see what's going on and even though he's tiny, he has to have room to move around.

| NYC is very dog friendly. My 1 year old Rylie goes to the post office, department stores, etc with no problem. There are even dog friendly places to eat ( I totally recommend the Barking Dog for anyone visiting the city). I have taken my Yorkie almost everywhere I've shopped. I often take his black carry bag with mesh so I can see him, he can see me, but few people even know he's in there. Every once in a while he lets out a tiny bark to remind me he's there or to get attention, but other than that he's pretty good. I started out by putting him in the bag at home while watching TV for 10 minutes, then worked up to 15 minutes, then to 20 minutes, so on, etc. He likes to be in the bag now although I am sure he prefers to walk most places...AND the training helped him stay quiet in his airplane carry-on bag for trips to Memphis and Puerto Rico. By the way, the one place I would never take him would be a movie theater. You can't predict when they've had enough and you don't want to bother everyone and waste money (movie going is EXPENSIVE in NYC!) by having to leave when he starts getting cranky! |
